It's ok paint. Dulux Trade version is way to thick and terrible. This is a good buy though so heat from me.

Dulux Trade is the only decent stuff they still make (besides Endurance). This paint is absolutely terrible.

Absolute nonsense regarding trade.
The trade paint is fantastic, just done my hall in it and, even though we did 2 coats, coverage was so good we could have gotten away with 1.
Covered up cracks and filler really well in old walls too.

Coming from someone who has used this exact paint and the Dulux Trade, I can't agree with this comment.
This (non-trade) Dulux paint is *very* watery, and required 4 coats to cover an off-white patch on a wall. The Dulux Trade is thick admittedly, but I find that as a result, it doesn't splash, even if you're trying to get the job done quickly.
As above, you'll spend much longer trying to get a half decent finish with this. I have half a tub of this left over from 2 years ago when I bought it, expecting it to be half decent being Dulux branded. I suspect I'll never use it.

sorry to say but this paint is not what you expect from Dulux. The coverage is terrible

Valspar trade is the best. Although it don't like very porous surfaces as gets really sticky like glue and if you back roll it then I have had it bubble up. I love the stuff though as the finish is near perfect after 2 coats. Johnstones cover plus is probably the next best although I guess Dulux Endurance is the same. Then Dulux retail. It's cheap, don't need to be thinned. Looks OK but needs 3+ coats to give a flat matt with only minor flashing.

well its very thick and like thick custard. I also bought the trade one not so long ago, didn't notice a difference. apart from 1 thing the trade one was a bit heavier when lifting.

Decorated my whole house in the Dulux matt stuff (non trade). A total waste of money and time. Have redone the whole house in Leyland Hard Wearing Matt now which is much better quality.

Yeah. I think all the hard wearing paints have more acrylic in although I'm not a chemist. I find the Endurance. Durable. Extreme. Touch washable type paints are thinner than standard trade paints but cover much better with a good looking finish. Johnstones paints make one that's £80 for 5lt. It's fantastic paint but way to expensive for what it is. Having big problems with valspar trade water based gloss at the mo. Absolutely no shine to it unlike dulux water based gloss that shines lovely but boy dose it run terrible. Can't always spray it but that's the only way I find to get a mirror finish. Yanks spray everything and so should we including emulsions. Even the cheap retail paints like this dulux offer can come out really good when sprayed.
Good deal if you can get it. Use this for whitewashing plastered walls

Dulux retail is flat out terrible. I've never heard anyone (before) giving it positive praise: it's thin, doesn't cover well, and the finish is disgusting. I did my bedroom in it once and if you brush it with your hand, it comes off.
