Everyone, I have powers. Everytime I decide to buy a game, even months after release, it immediately plummets to less than half price a week or two later. If there is a game you all want cheap I accept PayPal donations so I can buy it and you'll all get it cheap a week later. :stuck_out_tongue: seriously a good deal, I've barely touched the surface with this game!

I think you could well be right, given that it's 14p cheaper than the Rise of Iron DLC sells for on the Xbox/PlayStation stores. Cracking find, heat added

The Pre-owned version is likely to just be the base game with no expansions - it happened to me.

was thinking about getting that - but then realised its the vanilla game on disk with the rest using DLC codes that have already been used.

Its times like this that stops me wanting to buy day one, especially on games that have dlc.

For other games yes but not Destiny due to the way Bungie don't bring older content forward, given the choice of buying vanilla and each DLC to play the game along the way or buying this collection I'd choose the more expensive option. The original Vault of Glass raid is one of the best pieces of co-op gaming I've played but it's never been updated so it's too easy, no-one plays it and most of the rewards are no use because they're so low level. The co-op mechanics in the Taken King raid are also superb but again no-one plays that either any more.
So although you're getting what appears to be a lot of content, it's mostly just the Rise of Iron content you can play, you do have access to all the story missions but they're by far the weakest part of Destiny with a terrible story and uninspired design while the raids are really the highlight and now people only regularly play the Rise of Iron raid.
That said I still think this is a superb deal as you need Taken King to play Rise of Iron so to get the lot for less than Rise of Iron is clearly very good just don't go into it thinking it's like a normal GOTY edition where you're going get tons of content.

I bought this after that burst of PS4 500gb deals, I'm very much enjoying it. However I have got through it very fast, especially since this comes with level boosters. I just have Rise of Iron left out of the DLC main story and a buvh of quests I need a fireteam to do (ignoring of course the instances/dungeons and other stuff there is loads of)
The story isnt great, The mission layout is bad (spend minutes in loading screens just to hand in the one quest you have and fly back through the loading screens to the planet you were on for that quest)
Its basically just Halo with the lowest level of RPG elements they can get away with and gear grind tacked on... I love it.

To date, with all the DLC it's approaching a full game. A mega rip off and testiment to Activisions greed ...and mugs like me who buy it. Problem is it plays so well but after a while the repetition does your head in.

I put a lot of hours into this game but it's an even bigger rip off than something like FIFA. Overpriced DLC and microtransactions have ruined this game thanks to the greed of Activision. And if you don't buy the latest DLC you are unable to play huge parts of what you used to be able to. I won't be voting cold as this is a good price but don't get sucked into this money making scam which is just like online gambling now.
Just my opinion.

This is the collection, that contains ALL of the DLC, so that's a moot point. As for microtransactions? Right now they have zero effect on the game, they're for paper masks for crying out loud.

I love Halo Single player campaign and story same for Mass Effect, this is neither, the story is weak and theres little of it, I lost interest well before the DLC. I would give it a miss until it hits bargain basement price. Better for multiplayer for which I have no interest. Apparently the original story was really good but got dropped by Activision execs shortly after a number of the developers left and what you have now is the result of that, a shallow money milking machine of a game.

Wouldn't bother if your solo player, you will be cut out of all the endgame content unless your willing to use external sites, forums, message boards etc to find groups for activities which do not have matchmaking or your willing to find a clan to join.
Oh and the three previous raids VOG being my favourite are now completely irrelevant, wish Bungie would bring them to ROI light levels so I could do all four raids now that would be cool!

I was always a massive Halo fan, but just couldn't get on with Halo 5. What people who moan about the story won't tell you about Destiny is the general game play is fantastic, the guns are superb. It's story has had a troubled past, apparently it was torn up and started again less than a year before release, and whilst The Taken King seemed to put a lot of that right, Rise of Iron seems to lack in story because of their focus on Destiny 2.
I was always a solo player, Halo 2 was probably the last game I'd played with others online. But this brought me back. Honestly, if you can get passed just wanting to play solo, the endgame for Destiny is well worth it. The raids are something else (in terms of fun, not always relevant loot)
homerj1977
28 Oct 16#31
They're rightly pooling all their resources towards D2. The old raids will become relevant again, it's a cheap and easy content fix. That said, they're still fun. I run VoG all the time with my clanmates.

I'm biased, but I love the game. It's not perfect, and storyline in places has been patchy at best, but having put over 2,000 hours into it I've had so much fun playing it, and met some great people. Honestly, the community is one of the biggest reasons to keep coming back, the raids are amazing.
As for active players? guardian.gg has logged around 2 million people just in PvP over the past month, no idea how many in PvE.
I generally sherpa people through endgame content (raids, nightfalls, etc) so if anyone needs any help drop me a PM. It can be a little overwhelming when you first start, but you'll soon get the hang of it.
Also, with this you'll get a "spark of light" that will instantly make you a LVL 40. Don't use it on your first character. Work you way up, and use that if/when you create a second or third character.

Quite a few judging by the budgie lfg forums, and our clan alone has 123 members. I'm a day one player. The only thing you'll miss out on with this full version of the game is the anticipation of playing the raids when they first came out, the first three raids are very easy now, and Prison of Elders is also a doddle.
