Cleanit Washing Machine Cleaner Twin Pack 79p @ Home bargains
Not the most exciting of posts but thought this was a good price . Usually buy the Dr Beckmann every 3-4 months and that is around £3.00 for a single pack, so a twin pack for 79p seems really good.

Put powder in your machine and run at 90 degrees or the hottest without any clothes in it.
Also use a bit of bleach on a scourer to remove any left over black stains.
The black stains are left over dead skin and dirt I'm afraid. Happens when we use 30 or 40 degrees nowadays.
Ex Miele, Bosch, Neff and Siemens sales person. This was always a common problem and query.
Hope this helps.

Eh, no. The stains are mould - caused by moisture not being cleaned away - leave the door open after wiping down the drum seal after a completed wash

Just regular washing powder. You don't really need this type of cleaner as washing powder does the job.
Another tip. Alternate between powder and liquid for your normal washes. Gel doesn't dissolve well so try to avoid using gels.

That's really helpful thank you! I have the same problem :/
When you say put the powder in, do you mean the cleaner or regular washing powder?

Best leave it on the long cycle. You might have to do it a few time to give it a 'deep clean'. Then a hot short cycle every month to keep on top of it should be fine.

Hi, thanks for the tips, could I do it on a quick cycle wash (I assume that is around 20 to 30 mins to my washing machine) on hottest degrees? thanks

I use this stuff all time. My LG washing machine actually has a clean tub cycle just for stuff like this. haven't experienced any problems just out it on hottest wash

Worth a whirl at that price, was going to go for the dettol £4 bottle cleaner but I'll resort to this first.

Just used this and the drum is now shining like new and a lovely fresh smell when you open the door.

I buy a 568ml bottle for 45p from Asda. you only need maybe 200ml at a time on a boil cycle.

I have had my washing machine for about one year and I have now got a build up of black stains around the rubber seal - would the white vinegar get rid of this black staining, also, as asked before, how much would you use in the machine - do you pour it into the washing machine drawer or drum? Thank you.

Already bought it so will give it a go, At 79p for a twin pack probably not much more expensive than white vinegar anyway

How much do you use. A full bottle? If so the cleaner will be cheaper.
