Any geeks list parts for me to build my own anyway on the cheap. Was just talking about building basic electronic stuff earlier today, a bit like the old "Tandy" shop toys had as a kid, I've got a breadboard already, just need to figure out all other bits and parts to get :smiley:

P.s. You can get a refund off eBay 99.9% of the time almost too easily - to a point where the seller can suffer unnecessarily

​So. I'm glad you have £15 to just not bother about, but I'd be miffed if I spent that money on something and then it didn't work and I struggled to get refund. I'm not on benefits, but I'm here to save money like everyone else and find this comment supremely unhelpful and rude,and not really in the spirit of the community.

Oh and I have only tried to get refund once through eBay, where the seller sent me a cd case with the wrong cd in it. They saw in favour of the seller. Fantastic service.

I like the idea, but getting a resistor a day I'm guessing isn't much fun. I've just had the idea of giving my tool mad son a 25 piece socket set in an advent calendar. We already have a wooden advent calendar.

Worst tasting advent calendar ever... and to top it off, a choking hazard.

It's not funny, it's a cheap jibe. Not everyone is minted. Times are very hard for some & you are wrong to make that remark.

​I truly appreciate that not everyone has it easy, but people saying 'get JL to price match' so they can get 2 years warranty on packets of cheese slices (slight exaggeration, obvs) just gets really annoying.

If buying a £500+ TV for example, sure, hold out for a better warranty, but this is a £15 novelty that will DEFINITELY turn up if bought from eBay, the other poster is potentially going to end up not getting one at all because he/she doesn't have the guts to buy from elsewhere - I just find it a bit silly.

Most years Lidl do a refillable fabric advent calendar with pockets which is perfect for tools etc, probably better than the wooden ones

I have always gotten my refund from relatively easily when needed but there is no question that amazon gives you piece of mind because they are second to none.

You can't go wrong with the Bahco SL25, although my son is only 7, this set would truly last him a lifetime (although I'm honestly not sure about the case, it will last many many years though) and that's what I'm getting him!

That's about the price of a Lego advent calendar.
