Brewmaker beer kits retail at £15 each yet Tesco Direct have them listed at £15 for 6 kits. Each kit weighs 1.8kg , on the Tesco website it says ` 6 x 1.8kg Carton` or `6x1.8kgCtn` for £15 for each variant ....i`m in.
29/10/16 4pm UPDATE: Bad news its only one homebrew kit supplied not six i know this as i have just been to Tesco to collect my order. Oh well.

One of my lots, the Rose wine, are out of stock, so they said they can't fulfil it or switch to another product - i said will you send me them when they are back in stock? If i set up a notification and let them know when stock is replenished, yes. So I am going to be like a hawk on my emails. In the mean time I can get the one batch brewing until the other 5 are available.

I picked up my missing beer (10 cartons) yesterday so I'm very happy they were true to their word.
I was however slightly less than impressed that they literally managed to send me ten tins that ranged from moderately to severely dented...not a single one was undamaged! I'm sure they'll be fine though, and I won't care about dented tins while I'm drunk on homebrew for the next 12 months anyway

They have replied and are honouring the cabernet sauvignon and demijohns...i am working on the rose as the 6x description was identical. It will also be delivered to my house which is excellent. Good news! I got confirmation via twitter (after a bit of persuasion) that they are sending the missing items "stock permitting"...so if they stay true to their word, fair play to them for honoring their original wording of 6 x 1.8kg cartons. Looks like 2017 is going to go by in a blur :innocent:
Although...forgot to say, they are out of stock of the ones I really wanted (IPA and scottish heavy) so I'm giving the lager, pilsner, and northumberland brown a bash. Hopefully they will be nice enough.

I followed up by sending a screenshot of Tesco 6 pack of beans linky to beans and the following message "Clearly the same principle applies to the Tesco pack of 6 tins of beans, as per the following screen shot, where the customer buys 420g x 6 pack which goes into the basket, order confirmation, and receipt as "quantity 1" but the customer gets 6 tins of beans" :sunglasses:

My reply (after sending screenshot of product page from when I ordered, and screenshots of the order confirmations showing 6 x 1.8 kg of each): As you can see on my previous screenshot from the product page, I clearly bought 6 x 1.8 kg Scottish heavy and 6 x 1.8 kg IPA from the product page...this went in to my basket as 6 x 1.8 kg of each beer (12 x 1.8 kg total), and I paid for 6 x 1.8 kg of each beer (12 x 1.8 kg total)...this then matches the order confirmation I was sent by Tesco which also says 6 x 1.8 kg of each beer type. There is no doubt that I should have been sent the 12 x 1.8 kg I paid for. My friend who also put in an order spoke to customer services who advised him that Tesco were aware that they had made a mistake on the product descriptions but that as they had listed the items as 6 x 1.8 kg and not 1 x 1.8 kg, they were honoring the sales. As per the consumer contract regulations, I should be sent the products I paid for as per the product descriptions. As I'm an active member on consumer forums...I do hope this isn't an attempt by Tesco to wriggle out of their requirements under the consumer contract regs.

It has taken a couple of days of negotiation on twitter but I too have had my order fulfilled. What is even better is that my original product has gone out of stock so I was able to chose from the brewmaker range to get the full 6 cartons. It is worth pushing for the full 6 cartons as I now have potentially 240 pints for £15.

Just make sure you people stand firm and tell them you expect them to honour the purchase. Yep. I accidentally bought the chardonnay in a haul when they were down to £2.25 a go. The chardonnay is very drinkable but almost a 'wine like' drink and lacks a little complexity - absolutely fantastic to get smashed on, though, and would be great if you're just getting people bammed at a barbeque. And it's ready to go as soon as it's finished. It's not something that needs maturing.
The merlot is ok but knocked out by the cab sauv which I really like. It's soft and fruity and again lacks bitterness even with the oak dust provided but for a bit of a splosh when the sun's gone down it's plenty good. I also bottle carbonated some of the chardonnay and cab sauv but the carbonic bite makes them taste worse. They made good spritzers with lemonade, though. I've still got the sauvignon blanc to do and that's meant to be one of the better ones. I was going to brew it up this month but I've already got over 120 bottles of wine here along with all the blackberry and various Wurzel's that I've got maturing.
I've done loads of Beaverdale kits before that are really good and if you were paying full price I'd hold out for an offer on them instead. They're full juice kits and you don't have to add sugar like you do with these kits. These kits are really glorified alcopops and not that different from the alcoshots kits you can get. They even come with the same massive bags of yeast and nutrient so they brew out like crazy without a chance of wild yeast causing an infection.
tldr; if you're the sort of person that's drinking chardonnay and don't really analyse it then the Winebuddy kits are fine. And they're great for getting drunk while your real boozes are brewing out. If you want something that will impress then go for a Beaverdale it.
And wine kits I've never ever had a bad result with unlike beer kits.

I've not collected but sent a polite email to CS asking them to check if my order is incorrect like those of other people as I can't get out and I'm not arranging for someone else to pick it up for me if it doesn't match the order description.
I also said that I don't understand how the people preparing the orders can possibly just put 1 item in when it clearly says 6, and that I wouldn't like to think that this is just a cynical sales technique to shift stock that isn't otherwise selling as there's no way I'd buy that at full price for 1.

I asked them to confirm that the description was for 6 items and initially the agent said that it was to make "6 bottles of beer" but on pointing out that the main description said "Brewmaker Strong Export Bitter6x1.8kgCtn" he checked with a manager who confirmed that it did in fact mean 6 cans of 1.8kg beer KIT.
They then tried to say they were out of stock and wouldn't be getting in any more despite the website not actually stating that. They then tried to give me a refund. I then reminded them that they had accepted a contract to supply 6 cans and were in breach of contract if they didn't provide the remaining 5. I suggested they provide an alternative similar product which they accepted so I chose the 208-7666 brew buddy beer kit which is an equivalent product providing a similar beer with the same 40 pints. The agent then said that that product isn't for 6 and therefore it was more expensive if they sent 5 x cans at £12.50 and therefore they couldn't do it.
I said if they don't have an equivalent product available that is their problem, and they still need to provide a remedy. I asked for a manager and said we have a contract under the consumer rights act and they were in breach of it. I hung on for 5 minutes and then the line mysteriously went dead.

Maybe worth a shot speaking to Tesco after receiving the goods. Worst case is they'll not honour the 6 cases and if you don't want the item ask to return for refund. Best case, they will honour it or maybe at least offer credit as a gesture of goodwill if they cannot.

Be careful with your wording, if you say 5 cartons short that suggests you're calling the tin a carton, and easier for them to fob you off, whereas I see an important distinction being a carton of 6 tins which means it was very clearly and deliberately labelled as x 6.
Interested to know what others think though on whether to reject it or not. If you go down the route of accepting the order and then complain my guess is that you've effectively concluded the deal, much like if they conclude a sale they can't back out of it or ask for more dosh.

Buy a barrel with a tap. Sterilise it for 15 minutes. Pour in a kettleful of hot water x 3.
Pour in the can of malt extract stir it. Add a kilo of beer enhancer. Fill up with water to the 40 pint mark. Add the yeast. Fit the top and leave in a warm spot. I leave mine for at least 6 weeks. Usually 8 because I have so much in my fridge. I then buy 12 bottles of spring water from lidl for 17p each and empty it down the sink and fill with brew and pop it in the fridge. It's as simple as that. Not rocket science is it haha. Sterilisation is the key.
Stick with pale ale's for the best tasting brew

a fermenting bin and a bottling bucket (can be the same thing check out http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231078975970 the little bottler makes life much easier if bottling), an auto-syphon, a plastic paddle (spoon with holes in it) and a big plastic jug not required but useful, sanitiser (many recommend star san, but whatever you choose do yourself a favour and use no rinse sanitiser), a load of bottles (I use pet and swing top, if you use normal glass bottles you'll need a crown capper and a load of caps) or a pressure barrel.
you can use bottled spring water or just plain tap water, if the latter I'd recommend adding half a crushed Camden tablet to treat the water beforehand to remove chlorine.
other than that, you'll need time and patience

And wine kits I've never ever had a bad result with unlike beer kits.

the one i ordered has now had it's description updated as paulandpam1 stated.
I called customer services and after speaking to a very polite person he told me to forward the order comfirmation emails to them and he asured me they will sort this out by sending the missing items and he promised me this was not a fob off after I said it sounds like this is what was happening.
Total cock up by Tesco. Hey ho. Move on
I also said that I don't understand how the people preparing the orders can possibly just put 1 item in when it clearly says 6, and that I wouldn't like to think that this is just a cynical sales technique to shift stock that isn't otherwise selling as there's no way I'd buy that at full price for 1.
Worth a try if you're not happy.
Interested to know what others think though on whether to reject it or not. If you go down the route of accepting the order and then complain my guess is that you've effectively concluded the deal, much like if they conclude a sale they can't back out of it or ask for more dosh.
Stick with pale ale's for the best tasting brew
you can use bottled spring water or just plain tap water, if the latter I'd recommend adding half a crushed Camden tablet to treat the water beforehand to remove chlorine.
other than that, you'll need time and patience
enjoy
Let's see if it shows up on Monday
Its probably that tesco must order in packs of 6 but that is not my business.
My order says 6 x 1.8kgs
Not making anymore for that reason.
