Here is the info posted earlier.................
Getting your extended Warranty for this drill requires some further effort .
The standard warranty of 2years can be extended to three years but You MUST register within four weeks of purchase
Open an account with Bosch if a new customer and provide all details,
I needed a magnifying glass to get the required serial numbers from the drill they are tiny, and the address form will only accept 6 digits for a UK postcode for some reason
Eventually you will get to your Warranty certificate,Print this, and your proof of dated purchase receipt as both will be required to be sent in event of any claims. :smirk:

Got home to find a drill on the doorstep. Then logged on to find a thank you voucher for £10 off £50 - & it's the same code that was originally posted in this thread!
So thanks to the OP & others for posting codes after the original deal was over.
As a bonus it uses the same batteries as my hedge trimmer, something I hadn't even considered.

Has anyone confirmed 2AH batteries? Bosch only seem to make 1.5AH & the pics on B&Q's site show the same 1.5AH battery as Amazon.

Maybe I was lucky then. I told him I had been trying to buy it online with a code that reduced an online order over £50. He asked for the product code, checked the stock, asked me to come in tomorrow and told me he would instruct a member of staff to reduce it. All I can suggest is maybe trying another store, or ringing again and hoping to speak to someone else. Good luck!

Hi
ive just noticed this deal here i was messing around earlier with codes about 2 hours ago i stacked 4 codes and got £32 off it or £27 depending how you look at it as i also bought a £7.34 chisel set i needed at the time to go above £75. the combination of codes was a £2 a £5 a £10 and a £15 code total £32 off heres the codes i used if it helps anyone just to confirm it was avaliable to collect within a hour and i'm now testing the drill out.
Hope it helps someone to get a deal.

You're right it is a cheap drill. Hence all the heat it's getting. It's more than adequate for 99% of DIY users, who simply don't need the premium features that trades value. That having been said I see plenty of Stanley Fatmax in the tool chests of shopfitters theses days.As for Makita, they are introducing more and more 'budget' range drills that aren't a patch on their pro tools. Model number is more important than name.

I've not been able to locate stock of the fatmax with hammer drill function (looked in 4 stores)- Purchased this using suppied code + club discount code (which took 5 hours to come through) @ 53.00 pound. Click and collect worked so picking up tomorrow. Think it's a bargain and heat added..

I have a FatMax combi which I bought on offer for about £50-ish a year or so ago. It's a fabulous piece of kit - done everything required easily.
Although the FatMax beats it on paper in most ways (Max torque, blows per minute, chuck size, charger time), the most important is that they both have 2 x 2 amp/hour batteries. For home DIY use you probably wouldn't notice the difference about max torque and blows per minute.
If they are about the same price, definitely go for the FatMax as the light is below the chuck (which is much more intruitive than the base and it has a metal chuck whereas I don't think the Bosch does) plus the increased motor.
If it's £53 for the Bosch and £70 for the FatMax (as it seems to be at the moment), get the Bosch and put the extra money into half decent bits.

Remember to practice your drilling with the blastshield down on your helmet just like Luke does. This ensures you can drill just by using the force, instead of using your eyes like mugs do.
Remember, the force will be with you, always*
*subject to availability, force may vary depending on location and battery charge status and may not be available when drilling into space concrete

Good to know the torque, typical DIYer drills seem to be around 40nm or thereabouts which is ok for diy but not too good for drilling into hard masonary or tough bricks. Once you get a high torque drill (Makita 458 for example which is about 92nm) you'll never go back but of course they're about 2 to 3 times more than this.

Similar drill spec in terms of torque but 60min charging is long on the Erbauer. I got a dewalt 785 which takes 15mind to charge a battery. Same rpm drill speeds. The Bosch is cheaper though

Good price but it's only 38 nm of torque so not too powerful. Great drill / driver for doing stuff around the house as a general diyer. You will still need the corded drill to do dense brick and concrete drilling

Really good brand at the moment, they are excelling with their tech. If I didn't have a cordless Bosch drill already and a crappy driver I'd probably buy one but no need to spend the cash for the limited use.

I found it will do the business as long as you have realistic expectations for battery life.
I went for a seperate corded for when I need to do lots of masonry drilling but if you are just hanging the odd mirror and shelf Ivreckon this will do on its own. Especially given the spare battery giving you one in use and one on charge!

All the new Bosch Syneon chip power tools are just the business, they are more powerful, and make the battery last so much longer than any other battery drill I know...Bosch have really stolen a march on other manufacturers with the Syneon chip!
Quality brand just getting better!

Its very slow through red brick or concrete, so good to have a corded hammer drill for those tough jobs. The batteries last forever, I've had my drill for a year and its helped me out loads... Would recommend it to anyone.

21 Oct 161#21
in my experience, excellent drill but not for dense bricks nor concrete, you can go trough, with even 8-10mm bits but a cheap dewalt corded will save you a LOT of time if you have a lot of drilling, but if a few holes only - this bosh will suit

whats the link for registration for extended warranty?
thank you
Getting your extended Warranty for this drill requires some further effort .
:smirk:
So thanks to the OP & others for posting codes after the original deal was over.
As a bonus it uses the same batteries as my hedge trimmer, something I hadn't even considered.
I have no experience in drills but i want to learn so is this drill a good way to start?
I don't want to tempt providence, but my advice to anybody reading this is "if you need anything do it now" 'cos if it's anything like the drill fiasco, they will stop the vouchers pronto.

Anyone have recommendation for bits?
It looks like they've prevented ANY discount code from being used.
whats the difference i dont understand?
Still tempted with the £5 club code but despite it being accepted at checkout, no discount is applied. So unless someone can confirm that the batteries are 2AH I may as well buy from Amazon.

Nice drill,am well pleased at £58 quid.Does seem now (10.30 pm Saturday night) that the extra £10 off no longer is being allowed on on line orders ??.
ive just noticed this deal here i was messing around earlier with codes about 2 hours ago i stacked 4 codes and got £32 off it or £27 depending how you look at it as i also bought a £7.34 chisel set i needed at the time to go above £75. the combination of codes was a £2 a £5 a £10 and a £15 code total £32 off heres the codes i used if it helps anyone just to confirm it was avaliable to collect within a hour and i'm now testing the drill out.
Hope it helps someone to get a deal.

Ah well, happy at £58 though!
Bought for 58 quid.
thats the code i'm putting in it says its invalid
I've not been able to locate stock of the fatmax with hammer drill function (looked in 4 stores)- Purchased this using suppied code + club discount code (which took 5 hours to come through) @ 53.00 pound. Click and collect worked so picking up tomorrow. Think it's a bargain and heat added..
Wow, look at me justifying the purchase. Don't think the wife will see it that way.
Thank OP. That's hubby's xmas present sorted!
How much do they charge for home delivery?
So closed British ones, not the money-pit French ones
Even for British directors......
Besides - where d'you put the code ?
Remember, the force will be with you, always*
*subject to availability, force may vary depending on location and battery charge status and may not be available when drilling into space concrete
