Argos selling Battle Field 1 (released today) for £5 when purchased with an Xbox one elite controller. Only spotted it as i was after the controller not really a deal if you're just after the game on its own. Possibly saved about £34 on the game so could be very good deal for some. Offer available till 28/10/2016.
Elite controller has loads of customization options and Improves on the standard Xbox One controller in many ways but also gets mixed reviews so please check reviews accordingly.
edit: CEX will buy the game (Cash: £32.00 or Voucher: £36.00) which would make the controller £92.99 (could even play the BF1 first then sell) if anybody is interested in doing that.

How good can a pad be to be priced so highly? The console itself isn't much more!
Seems a bit mad to me.

Wow perfect deal, need to get both for Christmas and have been waiting to get the elite under £100 like it has been and was hoping to get bf1 for £30ish at some point before Christmas. This deal gets me the game at £30 and controller for £95 (my way of thinking). Cheers op

It's good. Really good. Makes the regular controller feel plastic and light, which had already made the PS4 controller feel like a kids toy.
Considering the alternative is a Scuff controller, which costs well over £130, the Elite is a fantastic piece of kit

lol elite controller £119? Idiots would pay this price.
Another marketing error by Microsoft I see.
Thought they would have learnt after outpricing the PS4 then virtually slashing their console price below the PS4 after taking a heavy hit on sales.

Think he's making a point that in the PC Gaming market, one spends upwards of £1,000 for a decent custom build, plus more when looking at gaming mechanical keyboards etcetera. Don't eat me alive; been a PC Gamer myself.

Controller can be had for between £105-£110 elsewhere, so it makes the game £15-£20. Probably be what it'll retail for in a month. Good deal now if you're desperate for both of these items in particular, I suppose.

Yes they are, I bought the £150 PS4 with FIFA 17 and No Man's Sky from Argos a few weeks ago and sold FIFA to a friend for £40 and returned No Man's Sky to a different Argos store and got £48 cash.

Taken the plunge as I was going to buy the game anyway and also had a £10 argos voucher. Still feels wrong paying so much for a controller but it must be pretty decent given the reviews i've read/watched. Heat added

22 Oct 161#41
You won't regret it. It's a different class. Feels weighty to the hand, exudes gravitas. And the paddles are great for Battlefield as you can change one to the spot button, meaning you can spot and fire...

22 Oct 16#46
I'm not sure that's the point he's making, but £1000 gets you far more than a "decent" custom PC! A great custom PC is around £600, £1000 gets you 60fps 4K.
Also I think there's a big diffference between spending >£100 on a controller and spending £100 on a mechanical keyboard.

This is cheating! An elite controller to play Battlefield 1? For an authentic experience they should bring out an Atari paddle for it and make us play with our feet in a foot bath.
goatboy_71
22 Oct 16#49
Heat added, ordered this offer and added 2 x £10 Argos voucher codes from previous purchases making this a great price. The ELITE controller feels awesome and feels way more responsive than the standard controller that came with my XB1S, proper solid piece of kit.

AAA release = £40 max (although on PC I never pay more than about £30).

Got it this morning and impressed so far with the build quality and feel. I've had to increase sensitivity on the game i'm playing as direction switches feel much better. A good way to describe it is to say it's a bit like going from having a car with ordinary 'loose' power steering, to a sports car with much stiffer steering that feels more in contact with the road.

23 Oct 16#70
MS makes less profit on the elite than the standard controller at RRP. So the elite for effectively £85 is a great deal and the quality is much better. Remember this will also work on PC and next years new Xbox scorpio console as well. :sunglasses:
Mikey_b
23 Oct 16#71
Have you even used one? How do you know what the difference is worth? Scuff sell the equivalent thing for over £130 for the most basic.
And being able to customise the length of thumb stick, the length of pull on triggers etc makes it more comfortable to play for longer periods.
If you don't like the idea of paying £120 for a controller, don't.

So the elite controller basically allows you to play for even longer over the already comfortable S controller? Great deal then if you're a single morbidly obese teenager.
DelBoy_Tr0tt3r
23 Oct 16#74
It isn't cheap but trust me when you use one for the first time (like I did yesterday) you instantly realise just how cheap the standard controllers feel. It's a shame that all controllers aren't built with this quality with the customisation as standard.
I've also been looking at the scuf controllers for the PS4 and they look really good, but also a lot more expensive than the Elite, as to buy like for like with the extra bits and a case included you're looking at well over £150 plus delivery charge.

I see no problem with a controller that is more expensive than a standard one.
If people want to buy it as a result of the extra quality or features, fine by me. it is the same with everything in life. A Dacia and a Lamborghini will both get you to the shops, but one will most probably deliver a better experience. If you can afford the Lamborghini of the controller world, and want it, then at least Microsoft gave you the option and the opportunity.

I always just push people to look at scuff controllers and then you realise how reasonable the £100 the controller usually sells for is. How are the grips on the handles? I'm still rocking a launch day controller and haven't got my hands on any of the newer ones aha.

I just went into Argos, had reserved the controller for my nephew's Xmas present and sold BF1 as he already had it to CEX for £32. Also I received a £10 Argos gift voucher for spending over £100. I took my £32 back to Argos and bought Forza Horizon 3 with the money from CEX and the voucher so that's 2 presents for £125 but I'm knackered now lol.
