Includes wines, sparkling wines, Champagne, fortified wines, kosher wines, and 75cl wines priced over £4.16 (includes lower alcohol wines, fruit wines and dessert wines).

Price matching can increase discount – if lucky
6 X Faustino VII £7.50 = £45
Less 25% for 6 = (£11.25)
Brand match: Asda Faustino is £5 therefore £2.50 x 6 = (£15)
£45 less £11.25 less £15 = £18.75 (for six bottles) therefore £3.13 per bottle
Hopefully this still on – ordered tonight so will know tomorrow. Remember to brand match you have to have 10 items in basket.

Just got 6 x Jacobs Creek Chard. and brand match is now done after 25% taken off for 6 bottles rather than before, so no glitches possible on brand match from here on. Still great value at £4 a bottle

Went to local Tesco at the weekend to get some 25% off bottles. Spotted some of the £2.75 bottles (Pinot Grigio and the First Cape Cabernet Sauvignon).
Got 6 First Cape, 6 x 2.75 = £16.50.Till then took off £4.13 for buying six bottles. So £12.37 for 6 bottles.
Got 6 of the Pinot Grigio, same result. Kerching!

Bobbins, I owe you one. Opened one of these and it is really good. Generally I tend to find Tesco cheap reds, not good at all.
This is absolutely excellent for the price. Spicy and quite full bodied.
To pick up locally for £3.75, it can't be beaten (for my taste anyway). Thumbs up <3

Let you know later. I really liked the Eternal Kumala last time, so at £3.75 I've picked up 6 of those as well.
It's is from 50 year old vines. I've sampled a lot of Tesco's £5 stuff and this for me is the best at this price point (notwithstanding the current offer of £3.75) Interested to know what you think after you've opened a bottle.

If you like Fino sherry the Tio Pepe sherry (brand leader) is in this deal at £6 a bottle (normally retails at £10) which is the lowest price for a quite a few years. It is on offer down from £10 to £8 and with the discount is £6. Bought 6 bottles for £36 after 25% discount. This was the most exceptional deal I could find.

Although the headline price for this is £8, it's regularly discounted to £6,which I reckon is a fair price.
£4.50 is good for this stuff.

I can only afford the £3 bottles from Asda.
The deal is discriminatory - only those who are richer and who can afford the more expensive wines get the 25% off. :disappointed:

I bought some Cono Sur Sauvignon Blanc which is £5 in ASDA. Tesco price is £7 but they compared it to their discounted price of £5.25 so I got back £0.25 per bottle.

Thanks to Marlovian I am pleased to see someone has tried it this week and confirmed the glitch has gone!
I'm at a loss as to what to with myself now that I can't spend hours on Asda/Morrison's/Sainsbury's websites looking for the best brand match.
On a separate note it's bloody annoying they had villa Maria at £7.50 the day before the 25% discount and then shoved it up to £9.50!

That's so cheap! I don't understand how and why they sell it at £4 normally, much better wine than most of the sub £7 wines unless there's a special offer!

I can confirm the glitch no longer works :disappointed:
The £4.16 limit is because Tesco are not allowed by law to sell alcohol below cost.
Bobbins
19 Oct 16#43
Because with a 25% discount Tesco would be selling a £4 wine for £3.
Tax on a bottle of wine is £2.89, so retailer gets 11p to pay for the contents of the bottle, the bottle itself, transportation, rent, heating and lighting and staff wages.
They'd be making a loss one each bottle sold.
mergleb

Why no wines below £4.16???
I cannot afford anything of that price with or without reduciton... :disappointed:

Do you get an additional 25% of the Trivento malbec? It's reduced from £8 to £6 but at the bottom it mentions the 25% offer which would take it down to £4.50 for a decent wine. Can't try it out as I'm in Scotland.
ClashInDevon to carthur
18 Oct 16#28
Yes, these bottles work out at 6 for £27 in England. So as you say, £4.50 per bottle.
I think that in all cases where the terms and conditions apply, the 25% off is on top of any advertised reduction for particular bottles.

I bought £400s worth back in late August during the last proper wine promo on the basis that they come around every 6 months.
This one has come around a bit quicker, and I've still loads of wine left, but will take another a couple of hundred quids worth. I can see wine only getting more expensive in the future so a good excuse for me to further stock up.

If it was it didn't work too well for them - ordered the Hardys stamp at 2 for £9 with 25 percent off - they substituted the Hardys stamp with wolf blass and an apology bottle of champagne as they could only supply 23 not 24 bottles. I only wanted some cheap red for mulled wine. ..

No complaints on exchange rate, I'm loading up on everything I can afford atm, but Tesco have always inflated their prices in Ireland, probably because they can (lack of competition)... 5% as opposed to 25% is still rubbing your face in it if you ask me

Here's an example of the way the Tesco Brand Guarantee could work with this deal.
Sainbury's have Cockburn's Fine Ruby Port on offer at £7.00 per bottle.
If you buy some extra items to qualify for the Tesco Brand Guarantee and buy 6 bottles of the Cockburn's Port, you should get them for £31.50 = £5.25 per bottle.
