Oh really? How come? I still haven't bought one being too scared to take the plunge, and the thought of having to shell out on a new a graphics card.

Dude did yours have any problems, I have a dead pixel on mine, it said it would just have box damage unfortunately not. However this screen is **** amazing.

No HDMI is killing it for me, I like having the option.

I had it in my basket and let it expire. At the end of the day, whatever tech costs, you always get better tech or price if you wait.

Unfortunately, reason is fighting against:
- a sense of loss of a bargain (if I get it NOW, it might only drop to this price 2nd-hand in 1 year's time...BIG WIN)
- the emptiness of an unfulfilled material want (new shiny is so seductive)
- the intrigue of exploring new tech (how good does my massive steam library look with G-Sync? Although I won't actually play ANY of the games; only tune and benchmark each one and condemn them back to the unplayed list)

Picked up one of these a week ago from amazon warehouse for £228.67. Was shocked when I saw the price but very happy.

Also picked up a Gigabyte Geforce 980ti G1 today for £214.38... just need a second one at this price now.

The TN bit doesn't bother me at all. Yes the viewing angles aren't the best, but at the end of the day it's not a tv. it's generally me or me and one other sitting straight in front of the screen. I dont need be able to see the picture from the side.

The only problem I've found is trying to find graphics cards that can power the latest games in ultra settings at 1440p @144hz.... generally speaking even the latest cards with SLI cant do that.

I think I may stick with it then, thank you. I have a 1070 and at 1440p even that isn't going to push anywhere near 144 frames for the majority of games!

had the dell TN, not as bad as you think. I have the pg348q as well, this is what you should go for if you're not prepared to pay nearly 3 times as much to go ultrawide.

I currently have a 1080p 144hz acer xb270h, anybody have any first hand experience on the upgrade from 1080p > 1440, and is gsync really worth it? There's nothing wrong with my monitor so I'm struggling to figure out if its worth the upgrade.

I was looking for one for ages ended up getting PG348Q, its great but overkill for what i needed (great for panzer corps!! lol). I wouldn't touch a TN panel after having ips on my previous ones.
I did try a VA panel though and that would have been great if ghosting wasn't an issue (acer Z35)

It also depends on the size of the screen. A 24" 1080p screen won't look dramatically different than a 27" 1440p screen but it will look better on the latter still.
To best describe going from a 23" 1080p to a 27" 1440p I'd say that games just looks crisper and you can see more finer detail. I think 1440p is a great 'sweet spot' between ultra high resolutions and what is slowly becoming low resolutions (1080p and below).

As for G-Sync, it is totally worth it. It's essentially like playing in borderless full-screen but without the microstutter you can get. It can also make some games running at around 45 FPS respond similarly to around 60 FPS. AC Syndicate is one of them I noticed felt really responsive at 45 FPS in G-Sync.
I can't recall the technical details as to why, but at around 45 FPS, G-Sync shines.

I went from 23 inch with a 1156 vertical resolution and for me, the resolution jump and the screen size boost are well worth it. The bezel on this screen is tiny so that's also a bonus.
The sugar on top for me was G-Sync and 3D Vision. I do have to wait for my 980ti to arrive but like I say, those last two were sugar on top.

Almost forgot to mention the 144hz feature too. Seriously good value for money.

Didn't see anything wrong with mine at all. In fact it still had stickers on it as if it was brand new. I admit the box looked like it had been opened but it didn't look like the monitor had ever been touched.
