this bike is brilliant, my 3 year old loves his and steers it fine at speed no problem. my son has had hours and hours of fun out of his. we don't use in the rain though and they will get mud splashes up their back if damp/wet ground because there's no mud guards.

depending in the balace bike. my son have a really early age one and he steers that. some cheaper knes dont steer and others do.

You don't steer a bike using the handlebars much.
You use your weight.
(i may have made a massive generalisation there...)

Ahhh fantastic. Thoroughly recommend a balance bike for little ones. HOWEVER I would go for the metal ones that are usually around the £20-25 mark, we've had two and both have done hundreds if not a thousand miles, and I would trust them a little more in the rain than a wooden one. Have some heat nevertheless :smiley:
