Received the email from BA that says they started charging people for 50p sandwiches and £1 drinks... i mean how many drinks can you have on a 2 hour flight? How much they are trying to save by this stupid idea at the cost of being 'any other budget airline'.
Just realised my post was not relevant to the deal )
Good deal op - voted hot. %20 discount is quite good
Any links outside of it being account specific - as it doesnt show on any of my cards?

No links. I believe this will only appear on BA Amex cards and seems to be select ones at that.

Not sure why this has been marked as expired, it's valid until 24/11 if you have saved it to your card.
Has anyone tested purchasing £500 worth of Avios points (31,000 points for £511)? I'm not sure there's any other way to buy credit.

oh and there are lots of other ways to buy credit but that's really for specialist forums/ blogs such as headforpoints
personally got nearly 1.5m - & I assure you it wasn't by putting £1.5m through my Amex card

What do you think about my question above on purchasing Avios points?

15 Nov 16#33
not sure if it would work
it DOES work on BA holidays
Avios - 31,000 for £400 net = 1.29p/ Avios - which is very expensive, we try to get them for under 1p & I personally wouldn't normally pay more than 0.8p - very different if you have a particular use in mind such as the 2-4-1 Amex redemption because you can create further value

My flights come to £498. Do you think it would count as being over £500 if i select to give to their charity taking the amount over £500?
There also seems to be a £5 charge to pay with AMEX (seems odd to charge people to purchase with a BA card...) so unsure whether that would count as taking me over the £500 mark.

If one total amount goes through on your card as +£500, then yes to any of the above. Does it show you a total card charge at the end including the fee etc to give confidence in this?

Thanks for your help. Yep it says my card will be charged £500 exactly so think I should be okay.

BA have split my £500+ transaction into four separate lines for each pax! Has anyone else seen this?
Will wait a day or so to see if the cashback materialises before querying if this is a cop out attempt by them.

Is this just in pending transactions? It might change. Even if not, the Amex terms don't explicitly talk about one transaction. I'd think Amex customer service would put this right if it doesn't happen automatically.

No it was past pending, but all good - the cashback has been credited!
