These are great. Got my two little ones one each last year for Xmas.
Both have now been replaced under warranty, one cos my five year old yanked at the charger too hard & damaged the port, so he was hard to get charging & the other when my three year old dropped down off the couch & cracked the screen. Both times replaced with no hassles & best of all, they take your card details over the phone, then send it out before you send the old one back, only charging your card if you don't send it back within a month. Got the new tablet in the post with returns label for the old one within two days both times, got it synced to their content & swapped it out without them having to go without it.
Plus the amount of apps, games & videos you can get including in the fire for kids subscription is impressive & grows/changes all the time.

I like the idea of a replacement if broken, but are the tablets themself any good?

Does anyone know if the free kids prime starts from when you purchase it or from when you open it and validate pls?
FoxForce5 to Keeleyc
26 Oct 161#19
When you validate it. Once you switch it on it asks for your details & the kid you're buying it for's name & age to register & start the free fire for kids (it uses the age to filter the games).

Brilliant deal, I've been wanting these for my two young sons. Shame you can only buy one via Amazon though. I got one with my Amazon student account for £67.55. Will have to buy another from Tesco or Argos.

The Tablet is the same one as they sell for £49.99 but the kids unlimited, the Case and most of all the warranty make this more than worth it. got one when they were this price for my boy last year for xmas. 2 replacements so far as he's ASD would have needed more if the case didnt do such a good job.

Is this a good deal? I've been watching for a while now and didn't know whether to hang on until Black Friday. I'm sure they have been £60 a few months ago just before they did the 2 for £150

BTW, anyone buying these, grab a micro SD card, preferably 32gb or more & set apps & games to install to sd card before installing anything, their one downfall is the lack of internal space to install games, but once that's done it will install 90% of the app/game & associated data on the sd card.

Don't these usually go down to £50 at black Friday? Ie next month?

27 Oct 16#33
On amazon prime day and black friday it was down to £69.99, some people are suggesting an upgraded model is in the pipeline, if that's true then on black friday it may be cheaper than 69.99, but it may not be and could also be out of stock by then. Worth a punt at this price, it's great for kids and i believe it comes with free accidental damage cover.

Is there any touchscreen lock on these so kids don't touch n stop movies while playing them
Thinking of one for my 2 year old just to put let it go on it
FoxForce5 to iibdii
27 Oct 16#37
No. If you want a tablet just for that then buy another cheaper android & put a kids only launcher on it with a touch lock app or similar. Fwiw i gave my two year old (now eight somehow!) an ipod touch & he soon leaned how to play videos & basic toddler games & learned when to touch the screen or not.

£3 (i think, haven't checked for a while) monthly to keep the sub, or pay for them individually. I think it's a bargain for the amount of games, films & tv shows they can access.

I see Tesco had it, although OOS there now. Pity, as I had clubcard vouchers to use.
here's a thing - if they replace it for free when broken, how will they honour this if there's a new model produced and this one discontinued? would they replace with a refurbished unit?

just in answer to the last Q I have read elsewhere that all replacements under the 2 year warranty are supposedly refurbished units. How true this is though I dont know
