Way better than the junk most people pay £100 for though, and those are way better than a free CRT out the dumpster. Plus if you use it every day for in my case 10+ hours a day it's easy to justify making your computer nicer to use in all sorts of ways.

RX480 is actually alright, i'm getting solid 60+ fps in GTA V and BF1 looks stunning too.
I went with the XFX card, which uses custom PCB and dual fan design.
I watched JayzTwoCents video where he discussed the power draw and temps.
Also how do I overclock the monitor?
Can it be done in Crimson? or its somewhere in widows?
I was going to get the Fury X but wanted to wait a bit to see what AMD brings out with VEGA.....but for now I'm satisfied with the 480.

have to report im still having issues... how is the rx 480 at the res? im afraid of the rx480 after the pcie problems
im looking to pick up a r9 fury x tomorrow and hopefully I should be in gaming bliss like you..
have you tried overclocking the monitor? I managed 110hz which is unheard of, even beating out the x34 which some people struggle to even get 95hz lol

I too had a weird fuzziness on the very right edge of the monitor when plugged into my PC.
On my Mac it was fine, no problems....which meant it was probably the cable or my GPU.
But after installing all the drivers, all is well now.

Enjoying it so far. Also my RX480 XFX 8gb is running great. I wasn't expecting at £250 ish card to perform this well.
Also the real OGs at Novatech, gave me a free copy of BF1...
Tested it out on GTA5 and the gameplay is smooth at full resolution.
Enjoy your new monitor mate.

Just finished setting it up, just used my MBP to test it out.
No backlight bleed, no dead pixels....phew.
Will be driving to Novatech (Portsmouth), to pick up my RX 480.

mine also came today, can confirm the quality control is very good on this monitor, also to note the monitor feels much better quality than the x34 G sync version I had, this model has joystick and buttons for the menus, a better stand and swivel and rear brushed aluminum back instead of the black plastic of the X34 also practically no backlight bleed, only downside is gaming experience is not the best on Nvidia, I have managed to overclock this monitor to 100hz but still not happy I will probably sell the 980ti and grab a fury x

I wouldn't recommend a Fury X if it is indeed £100 more expensive than a 1070 bearing in mind these 980 Ti vs Fury X ultra-wide and 4K benches. That's a hell of a lot of extra money to pay for FreeSync support.
now expired congratz to everyone who got it

Cant really speak for bluray but I use Kodi to watch movies on my 1440p ultrawide and have had no problems at all with aspect ratio. Plays perfect with no black bars and not zoomed.

Just bought this. Was gonna go for a Gtx 1070 as well or would it be better to go for a free sync card? Any advice would help as I've always gone with nvidia.

Fury X is good at this res. Its around £100 more expensive than a 1070 but will run way cooler and you can use freesync.

yeah its really annoying, most movies don't scale also youtube vids are annoying also, there is a plug in you can get for chrome but its just basically zooms in the video and some of the bottom is missing abit
you can sometimes get it working perfect in the aspect ratio but most of the time my blu rays was showing out of ratio and was a pain to watch anything

Really, I thought movies would have looked good. It is to do with the aspect ratio?

I bought it for 650 a month ago and I love it I am using it with GTX 1070 because unfortunately there is not a good AMD card for it overclocked to 85hz and with v sync on I have constant 85fps just love it fcuk g sync and it's prize tag ......

Aren't you dealing with your eyes distorting the flat monitor? Curved monitors are supposed to make that less bad. I don't think it'll make much of a difference either way.

Maybe get a 390 or 390x and then upgrade to new GPU next year when AMD release their new GPU's.

also wanted to say this monitor is
10-bit colour (8-bit + FRC)
which is a nice addition
EDIT: also should feature the revised stand what was later added to the X34A model

Ah wow, I didn't notice that this is a newer model. I've actually got the older one which looks better given the range of 30-75hz, which seems up there with the best available at this resolution.
Having a freesync range down to 30hz was important to me choosing a monitor at this high res - performance is likely to drop, and I can confirm it's definitely noticeable when fps dips below the freesync range - so I would probably steer clear of investing such a lot in this monitor. There are probably better options out there.... not least last years model!

Whats the return policy with ebuyer?
Can they arrange a return delivery if the monitor doesn't live up to expectation.
From what I've read online the acer panels suffer form IPS glow, blacklight bleed, etc...
Is there a no quibble return policy within 14 days?
Aretak to shaazzaarr101

It's the standard 14 days where you can return for any reason. Some retailers will still kick and scream and argue the toss, but Ebuyer have always been good about returns for me. I sent back a GTX 1070 that I'd opened and used a couple of months ago and they refunded me no problems. Sent back a couple of other things in the past too without issue.

Awful screen manufacturer. I know one major retailer who has stopped stocking Acer screens as they have had so many returns which they have had to throw in the skip as Acer wont accept the poor screen issues are actually issues.....................
