A cherry red colour, suggestive of a vibrant Tempranillo wine. On the nose, it's rich aromas have a pronounced intensity with an initial scent of ripe red fruit followed by gentle sweet notes of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is perfumed, soft and fresh with a long finish that leaves memories of red fruit, vanilla and cocoa.
Campo Viejo is the flagship of Rioja wines. Ever since two local winemakers, Beristain and Ortiguela, created the first vintage in 1959, we have been synonymous with expressive wines, unique styles and innovation. Campo Viejo has a long and proud history that dates back to the Roman Empire.

Excellent find. Decent young Rioja at a decent price - although the "Campo Viejo is the flagship of Rioja wines" did make me chuckle, aye right guys!

Picked up 2 bottles last night, the deal is good but if you only want 2 or 3 bottles its still cheaper than elsewhere at £5 a pop.

Asda have many many fines wines instore for £4 a bottle. Add to that Baileys at £10 a bottle and I spent a fortune there yesterday!

Good deal. I prefer the Garnacha version of this Rioja that they sell rather than the Temperanillo. It's the same colour label and is usually in the same deal, just look for Garnacha underneath the word Rioja.

Hope it's ok for me to comment about this here....If you've not tried this wine before and would be interested in trying a free glass of wine, subject to availability and terms and conditions, I have previously posted an offer in the freebies section. Sorry don't know how to provide a link. Check it out by searching for 'free glass of Campo Viego wine' in freebies.
Where did those six bottles go?. Back to Asda tomorrow

What a joke this was posted as a deal ( 6 for £24) a few days ago yet this gets hot because people can't think to put 6 bottles on Rioja in on the deal !
