It is cheap. May be it is made in China(I do not have any evidence). How do you relate quality with price? I was just posting a cheap and large TV which can be at least used as a second TV for children, mainly for the folks who cannot afford the 'made in the UK'(if there are any) and 'high quality' which are rare in the market. Apologies if I upset yous standards.

Bought this when it was 179, great picture, EPG can be a little slow,the media player is really good, hasn't choked on anything put onto a USB stick , MKV, AVI, MP4, all play flawlessly. For the money, a fantastic tv.

I have a 50 inch Digihome TV for over a year now and had no problems. The colour is excellent and sound is very good. I watch HD sports and found no much difference than high end TVs.
If you open inside this TV you will find LG Display.

It's a BIG screen (with Freeview fer christ's sake) for a SMALL price, what's ter knock?, and YES, absolutely perfect for the kids room, since yer not gonna get the kids BITCH about "Connections", "Audio quality" 0r "Refresh rate" , not that I'm suggesting for ONE second that this set would have issues in any of these departments.

Bought the 49 in about 10 months ago.
Most annoying thing is takes a few secs to start up and no standby light so you are never quite sure it's coming up for those few secs.
Can't complain for price.

I own this exact model for a few months now and find it to be of suitable quality for the price. once connected to HDMI, if the source is on then output is fine. sure for more £ you get more but more than suitable for TV box and PS. if you are after a bargain this is it.

I have a 6 year old LG 32" that beats this by a mile in all the above.
I would look for something else round the same price, however bad it is it won't be worse than this.

Nothing wrong with cheap TVs but some of the 'made for supermarket' ones are really poor in terms of picture quality.

I seen reviews that have said to get a good SD / HD picture you need to avoide the entry level 4k sets and go for one with good upscaling whcih is going to cost at least £650-£700. That's quite a bit above a good SD / HD set.
With people mainly buying over the internet its hard to guage how well a TV upscales SD / HD signals.

In my experience 4k tv plays 1080p better as well. And 4k is not expensive as well. If you look for the deals, you can get 4k tv for similar price.

I will be watching SD & HD for the next couple of years - maybe the odd 4k show if I continue with Amazon prime but that will be on a small 32" TV so 4K pointless. So I will be much happier with a non-4k set that displays SD & HD better than a mediocre 4k set. 4k isn't for everyone...but you know that already.
In 2 yrs time I might for go a HDR OLED set that will be 4k by default but who knows maybe we will be on to 8K and 12bit by then....

Freeview 4k will never be available because Freeview is a waste of mobile bandwidth to send one way TV signals when it can be used for two way mobile communication. But 4k tv can play 1080p but not the other way around. Nowadays most boxes are 4k so you will very soon regret not buying 4k tv and your money will go down the drain.

HDR more worthwhile than 4K in any case and this area needs tiem to settle on a true widely available standard.
So by all means buy 4k / HR now and but don't be surprised if you need to buy again in 2 yrs time....
