Saw a Poundland on my travels so popped in for a £1 powerbank and saw these sitting next to them. Obviously I have absolutely no use for cassette tapes so I bought a pair to take home and put in my drawer, right next to my £1 powerbank.

It used to break my heart when I went in your shop
And you said my records were out of stock
So I don't buy records in your shop
Now I tape them all 'cause I'm 'Top Of The Pops'
Yeah, now I got a new way to move
It's shiny and black and don't need a groove
Now I don't need no album rack
I carry my collection over my back
C30 C60 C90 Go
Off the radio, I get a constant flow
Hit it, pause it, record it and play
Turn it, rewind and rub it away
Policeman stopped me in my tracks
Said, "Hey you, you can't tape that
you're under arrest 'cause it's illegal"
So I shoved him off and blew his whistle
I'm a pirate and I keep my loot
So I blew him out with my bazooka
C30 C60 C90 Go
Off the radio, I get a constant flow
Hit it, pause it, record it and play
Turn it, rewind and rub it away

Cold not TDK SA-90s (or even D-90s)!
Can anyone comment on the audio quality of these units? I'd love to get one of these to transfer all the old mixtapes and tapepacks I have but would prefer a device that will keep as much of the quality as possible (obviously taking into account the inherent poor quality of the tapes)

Do not buy. I bought loads of these from them when they had stock months ago and all the tapes stuck in the cassettes despite trying different tape machines . Poundland make lots of money out of buying end of line stock that does not work and people like me who either cannot find the feceipt or is not worth the petrol to go and try and claim your money back,

For those who are too young to know about cassettes, they are a great technology that automatically adds a backing track of hissing noise to every track. This is included free with every cassette. Think of it as a free hidden track except it is on every song you play.

You can also very carefully unravel and lay flat on top of vinyl records (12" is the best option for this). Then gently lower the arm on to the tape and play at 33rpm. This is something the industry tried to keep secret in an attempt to sell more cassette players.
