Enjoy a compelling picture quality with colour-boosting HDR on the Hisense 55M5500. Backed by four-times the resolution of Full HD, this 10-bit has the ability to play programmes and movies in a beautiful High Dynamic Range. Furthermore, with the brand’s state-of-the-art Smart platform, you’ll be entertained with apps such as Netflix, Youtube and Wuaki.tv. And if you have an Android smart device, you can beam content directly onto the big-screen using AnyView Cast.
Super-Sharp 4K
To respond to screens getting bigger, brands have packed their screens with more pixels. This 50-inch screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.
Experience this high-spec picture across a range of broadcasts, movies, sports and more thanks to 4K upscaling. As it converts lower resolution content to near-4K quality, anything you watch on the big screen will be truly extraordinary. This set’s smooth 1000 Hz refresh rate makes it perfect for watching sport, too.
HDR support
With its 10-bit panel, the 55M5500 can show over a billion individual colours to deepen your view and shows shades you’ve never seen in home entertainment before. The source content needs to be HDR for you to fully appreciate the picture, but here lies an element of future-proofing a new era of television.
Quad-Core smart platform
This set’s Hisense Smart platform is ran by a rapid quad-core processor, so you’ll browse seamlessly. Do anything from stream shows on Netflix and Amazon, keep up with the weather on Accuweather or play clips on YouTube. Other apps included Wuaki.tv, Plex, Facebook and Twitter.*
AnyView Cast
With AnyView Cast, you can mirror content on your Android smart device onto the TV. You could show holiday snaps to guests, play games on the big screen or continue watching movies from a commute – the possibilities are endless. Please note that this feature doesn’t work on iOS devices.

OP is incorrect, it's NOT a 10bit panel. It can process 10bit but it's not going to show you all those colours. Don't be fooled.

I read this is an 8bit panel that can process a 10bit signal so not a true 10bit panel ?
Seems far too cheap to be a true 10 bit screen? I guess it's not one of the big brands, but this still seems really too cheap for a 10bit HDR screen.

I remember reading about it when I was looking for a TV but cannot find any hard evidence. the rather low brightness rating and no mention on Richer Sounds about a 10 bit panel seems to say it's not....

On AV forum Hisense reply for panel info was... The panel itself is a 10 bit one, however, the TCON board in this set can’t process 10 bit signal, which means the 10 bits are actually dithered 10 bits.

Here's a review from a spanish site translated:
mall gray spots on the edges are seen, they are the same I saw on the video from youtube, but the reality is that once set a radio tdt or a movie, have not been back to appreciate, just that as they are there, I am able to identify them , but the proof is that the whole family and friends who have seen it , none has been able to find, except when I have put the "picture perfect target." the detection tdt and satellite channels has been amazing, with my previous TV had signal problems and the sensitivity of this all I get 100% without problems, I have not had a single pixelization in the channel changes. The sd channels has me re climbed smoothly and perfect for my taste HD. The sound system that brings the TV personally find poor, but maybe that was used to my team, to which I have connected smoothly, the function arc without problems, detection of peripheral has not given me problems (PS3 , AVR-2313, DVD / SACD-pionner, and KODI (media center) detection of a hard disk of 1 Tb -.. Toshiba Canvio Basic 1TB, 2.5-inch, smooth, the function of recording to disk without problems system smart TV that brings me personally I did not like anything, but it is also true, I thought not use it, anyway've tried, the netflix and youtube, I got some problems, but reset the TV to factory settings and disappeared. the HDR have not figured out how to know whether active or not. in the configuration I find nothing that refers to HDR or SMR, as I read in some reviews. I will continue reading and looking for him. the options that brings pre-loaded factory adjust the picture is not bad. even for my personal appreciation has a slight predominant color it is blue-green but corrected in the manual settings, but it is also true that although I appreciate my family say they look just keep doing but evidence is a matter of taste, I think for the "non-foodies" factory options are more than sufficient. The only thing I really do not like the blacks, especially because it is odious and compare the best screen I've ever had was my 60-inch kuro, doubt again see something "so decent." There are no software update, I asked for service by mail and I made automatic and manual search TV "
the 7000 series is 100 quid more and had local dimming and according to the salesman at richer sounds has much better motion processing so videogames and sports will be better.

Why is this even a deal let alone a hot one. Cheaper and better terms elsewhere
Just bought one of these in 55", from Richer Sounds. Paid £630 including the 6 year warranty.
Was looking at the LG, Samsung, and Pioneer TV for around £800, but this one seemed to handle SD and HD content better though an arial and sky box. Couldn't see much difference in 4k picture in the store, in the end this was by far the cheapest.
Played around with the YouTube app, and the 4k samples looked really good.
