I need a card of this style because most others are too tall for the card locking & retention mechanism on my HP workstation.

OcUK say they honour the warranty, however after 28 days all OcUK will do is ship it off to Hong Kong for you, as that is where the RMA base is for Zotac, so you could be waiting a month for a replacement/repair. Zotac used to have a UK RMA centre.
I would rather have an EVGA, KFA2/Galaxy or Gigabyte GPU for peace of mind.

For anyone who bought a 1070 or 1080 from Amazon and hasn't received a code for GoW4, do an online chat to request that they provide the code for GoW4. I bought this deal when it went hot, and received the GoW4 code today after I prodded them in a chat.
Price at both Amazon (backorder) and OCUK (in stock) is now £368.99 again.

The FE isn't a terrible option for some people that need a blower style card like myself. The only really disadvantage of getting a blower style card is the noise from the fan tbh. Mine boost clocks to 1886Mhz with no overclocking too!
However, the 970 is still solid for 1080p in my opinion. As usual it depends what you play and the visuals you want.

Is this worth an upgrade from a 970? How much faster?

EVGA all the way, though I would take Gigabyte as a close second.

For good warranty support you want another EVGA or Gigabyte (who have a UK RMA base)

Amazon are not a selected partner though so I'm not convinced

A new saga begins for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. Gears of War 4’s tense and brutal new campaign features JD Fenix – son of legendary hero, Marcus Fenix – and his friends, Kait and Del, who must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy. And for a limited time, *Gears of War 4 is free when you get Game Ready with a GeForce GTX 1080 or 1070 graphics card or GeForce GTX 1080 or 1070-powered notebook.
Not sure you get Gears of War for free at Amazon? Worth maybe £25, might be worth checking, not sure you do or not

Personally I'd spend £10 more and get a non founders, non blower 1070 for much better cooling and noise.

I worry about all these brands and how good they warranties are, I haven't bought all that many cards over the years... But I do remember buying a Palit once longtime ago and the fan burnt out within 2 weeks. When spending this kind of money I really want a guy outside my door with a New one in hand just incase
Need to educate myself about these other brands (Reliability etc).
My current card is EVGA gtx 660ti sc 3gb... I have had it 4yrs and it's done me proud. With Battlefield 1 coming I am looking at the 1070s, though I don't want to pay 400+ if possible.

Now the same price at Amazon - their price changed immediately after I finished a live chat where the rep said that they wouldn't price match :-\
