so its not a hot deal then at 249.99 as it is the same price as everywhere else that stocks the battlefield 1 edition like game or the microsoft store so as per usual a complete waste of time

I'll probably sell my old Xbox One and get this for the UHD blu ray player and 4k netflix.

It doesn't include a UHD blu ray drive afaik - just 4K output for Netflix (and probably store downloads). Games won't get any special treatment either - your 4K tv already upscales for you
Personally I will wait for Scorpio
Edit: I was wrong, it does include a Utd player...hmmm
I'm planning to change my old xbone for the s to get rid of that annoying and loud power brick -_-

Typical of fanboys to attack the competition even though they gain nothing from it, other than being called what they are.
Xbox One Slim is great for folks who want to watch Blu-ray films in 4K (Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are available in 4K BD ) and the Games with Gold subscription is pretty awesome, so it's well worth. I'll probably get a PS4 (Pro edition) when PS5 is out so the price will have dropped down and games are cheap.
I'm still playing GameCube and SNES. Catching up with gaming is a long way.

If ordering from Amazon, don't forget the MacMillan click through to make a free donation. It'll make a big difference for purchases of this value.
Most people wanting a PS4 pro won't give a crap about a 4K BluRay drive. Aside from the fact there's only like 5 films out in UHD BD in the first place, and the fact that 4K TVs are a niche in their own still, not being able to watch a prettier version of Deadpool might make all of 2 people upset in the world.
Just bitter Xbots.
Seriously though, the world is still busy coming to grips with 1080p, which the Xbox one can rarely achieve, especially with Battlefield 720p every damn time. Then you have those in denial that say 1080 vs 720 is pointless as they look the same....
If anything, the One S will be a nice complement to the pro. Buy both if you really want that 4K player, then you can at least enjoy a couple of exclusives too.
But in all honesty, people are crazy if they truly believe Sony won't bring out a revised PS4 Pro with an UHD BD drive when 4K is actually mainstream and relevant.
Gloating about the One S havin 4k BluRay at this moment in time is like gloating that you can hit 200mph whilst sitting in traffic at rush hour on the m6.

4k Netflix is garbage the second month if taken it out and all there is is crap tv shows on it no movies in 4k :-( so i really don't know why sony bothered mentioning Netflix . God here in the uk we are still 3 seasons behind on american horror story :-(
i hope they can add uhd later thay say they wont but we shall see once people start buying xbox one s console

Great deal. If you don't want game sell it. Well worth it for the console, 4k blu ray drive, hdr, new controller.
Whom ever chooses ps4 slim or ps4 pro over this needs to be sanctioned.
Sony didnt even put a 4k blu ray drive because they think hdr over streaming is the future when they have poor PSN lol

Its people buying this that need their heads looked at its the same console as the launch one i have under my tv and i see no need to pay £250 for something i already own it may have a UHD bluray drive but ffs its a console not a video player. I have a PS4 and a Original Xbone which ive had since launch and have a lot of games, way more than the PS4 and i still choose Xbox games over the PS4 now but ive preordered the PS4 pro because its a lot more powerful than the Xbox and its something new. The original PS4 is way more powerful than the Xbox now so the pro will kill it and the original PS4 is getting HDR gaming Tuesday so nothing special with the Xbox. The only reason to buy the Xbox slim is if you were buying one anyway but if you already own the old one you would be a fool to shell out again for the same thing. Its also not confirmed that the PS4 pro doesn't have a UHD drive and Sony will see how upset customers are and may well put one in as its a long way off launch yet

Xbox fans were more or less forced to buy a box that looked like a VCR which cane with a brick.
Now they can sell the old and get the new slimmer, no brick adaptor xbox one with an improved controller. Plus the HDR support and 4k player. I think it's worth the extra on top after selling the old model.
I didn't buy the launch model as I wasn't happy with they way it looked but waited and have now pre ordered the slim model now as I knew there'd be one. Most of the exclusives are now under £15 pre owned as well!

The PS4 Pro has indeed been confirmed not to have 4K Blu-ray disc support. Games at 4K, yes, Blu-ray movies at 4K, no.
Strange, when the PS3 was launched it supported Blu-ray. Apart from the single disc game benefits, it doubled as a Blu-ray player and that gave Sony some selling advantage at a time when some Blu-ray players were more expensive than the PS3! I would have thought Sony noticed this advantage and would have made the right choice again by including the latest optical disc tech with 4K Blu-ray, instead it looks like Sony made Microsoft's mistake and Microsoft made Sony's good choice this time around.
Anyway, with 3 consoles in 5 years vs the 8 life span of one console in the Xbox 360 and PS3 gen, maybe it's not such a big deal to miss out a change that they can put in a few years.
Ok, I take that back about the incremental change. Just Googled PS4 4k Blu-ray and apparently the Sony Prez said no support for it because Sony saw the future as streaming. Considering you'll need anywhere from 15 Mbits(1.9 MBytes) to 60 Mbits (7.5Mbytes per second) for 4K video, I don't see that as a great choice. Netflix advises 25 Mbits. Some houses would struggle to get that, then if someone else tries to use the internet connection while you're streaming....

Does this mean you can play the game early or will it just sit there unplayable until release? As surely you need the deluxe edition to play early, it comes with the 1tb special edition and is one of the main features of the Deluxe edition.
BF1 is great from what I've played so far. Jury is out on the singleplayer but the multiplayer is a lot of fun especially with friends. But I'll probably do the same as I'll sell the FIFA code to a friend and buy BF1 separately.

I'm failing to see how this is a deal? - It's the same price everywhere else £249.99 for Xbone S 500Gb model with a single game (same as the fifa bundle). Thankfully I pick up mine when the Tesco deal was going.

The deal is that it comes with a game as the rrp for the console only is £249. I understand that other places have it for the same price with one game, the deal is the game.
