Seems like a really sweet deal but I've been hearing things about the fan making noise, I'm unsure about buying one.

This is tenner more than most paid only a few days ago and it doesn't come with a FIFA 17 code. yeah it's £40 off the rrp but as its just the console I don't think it's good value in comparison.

That deal has ended now and most places now £249.99 for the fifa deal, i think currys are still doing the fifa deal for £224 though at least it was still live yesterday morning

Not a bad price, I paid £169 though as Amazon refunded me £25 and I sold FIFA for £30. Can't even see a black Friday deal beating what I paid by much.

I got my 2nd one today - i originally got the £239 Tesco 3game deal, CEX paid me £266 for it with one of the games (Overwatch), i kept Forza horizon 3 and sold Fifa17 code for £35 - 2nd one arrived today from Very, £249.99 on a 12 month bnpl with £50 account credit, so £199.99 with fifa code which again i sold, this time for £30... super impressed with console and with my del boy approach to getting one cheap... my advice- get it from Very while you can, offer is open till midnight tomorrow...

im tempted to do the Very thing too. after I've sold my old xb1 I could end up paying as little as £60 over 12 mth period. the only think that'll benefit me tho is that it's smaller, new controller. I have no 4k tv etc what u think, should I go for it? lol

just got an Xbox One S and sounds the exact same the normal Xbox, I've always found it loud when leaving a disc in if your settings is on fast start up so I would advice going into energy saving mode if the sound bothers you or just unplug when not playing

I'm quite surprised with how quiet it is compared to my ps4. When it's on 'instant on' mode, I can't even tell if its on or not while downloading games after it's been switched off. On my ps4, i can hear some noise when in rest mode

Very's credit check is painless, it was only a handful of one word answers completed online, decision was super quick, i opened account a year ago and have not noticed any increase in emails or calls from random companies. I think of Very as one of those old catalogue companies - they are aren't they - but I have been impressed, BNPL for 12 months, interest free, that brill. £50 credit? yes please!

I was not sure whether it was worth selling my old one etc but now that I have it, i do think it was worth it. It is so much smaller/ neater and the loss of the power brick is brilliant and going forward having the uhd is a bonus for when i upgrade tv wise - microsoft got this one right, its a great looking unit.. the old one is comparison was a monster of a thing.. i swapped white for white, the old one's style was so dated simply due to its size when you looked at my ps4 sat on shelf above it, embarrassing design from microsoft. The new one is great.

jumpman, the number of interruptions over the year while at work for selling insurance and breast implants etc..I'd pay £10 to avoid. I paid £209 for the convenience of not going through a credit check.

If the base S model was 1TB it would make more sense. It's pretty much just a cash grab for the hype about 4K. Unless Sony have a PS4 super pro in the pipeline then scorpio is the console to watch.

Yeah it might run first party games in native 4K at 30fps, but so far no one has said that the Pros upscale 4K looks any different to native at normal distances to a tv.
Either way, it's all about price. The PS4 Pro will be significantly cheaper than £350 in a year, so if Microsoft sell the Scorpio at £450+ then it's already dead in the water. Mainstream consumers will see sonys false 4k marketing and a way cheaper console versus the whole native argument and a more expensive console.
Either way, hopefully Microsoft realise that white is an awful choice for a console that will sit next to every other black media centre item on the market. It really is. I want one specifically for horizon 3 and gears 4, but there's no chance of me having a big white eyesore under the TV.
It's not 2005. Give us a black model. One that isn't a fat VCR.

The fan issue is an issue with the ball bearings. You will either have it, and you will know about it, or it will be whisper quiet like mine. Just return it if you have a loud one.

So, what am I going to use the 4K player for? I can't see myself buying blue rays or DVDs anymore. I use Kodi and iptv now. Has anyone got a non game playing killer use for the 4K player function on this? Maybe something I didn't think of?

Actually white looks very modern. Even my old xbox360 was white. Fits in well next to the black amp.
Currently got the older white Xbox, I actually prefer the look of it compared to the one s, the plus point for me is the lack of power brick though as it would be great to take it with me when I travel which is what I do with my PS4.

I sold it them the day before yesterday, i got in as the door was closing so to speak, i had been in the day before to enquire and was told 236 and that they may give more cos they wanted stock of them (my local hadn't had any yet) but by the next day when i went in, it was £204 - the assistant spoke to his manager and they offered me £240 if i'd still sell to them.. which of course i did.. as they were processing, their prices dropped again and the manager had to override their system for a second time.. i grabbed my cash and scarpered! :smiley:

Wow - forza - and forza horizon look amazing and GTA and FIFA 17 demo - in shock in fact how good this now looks at upscaled 4K - u was gonna hold of for a genuine 4K console but at this price and how quite and it's looks great in my lounge - I needed a faster plex client too haha

Very have an odd way of checking your credit worthiness, I have a way above average credit score, but on multiple occasions they have refused me an account. When I have bought from Very, I've had to pay in full straight away, which is fine, but there's something weird going on with them with regard to their credit checks. They say they use Equifax, but there's nothing untoward on my Equifax report.

It's not so much that very use a credit check, which I guess you have to as you're effectively borrowing the Xbox from them - it's that their user agreement says that your acceptance gives them consent to use your info in any related commercial way they see fit. In my experience this usually means calls from **** enlargement merchants and the like at random times in your day.

I did this only gripe I have is I ordered very early thursday morning was despatched by 8.30am and I have to wait until monday.

yeah 100% I refused the extra £20 for saturday delivery when I ordered. I wasn't able to change the delivery date with DPD to anything earlier then monday and it was £10 - £5 to change the time they deliver on monday.
Kinda wish I just brought from the store and paid more I get weekends off so it kind of ruined it for me till next weekend now.
