Great controller...Value for money if you play a lot of games (especially FPS ones as the paddles are excellent!)

I play quite a few fps games. What exactly do the paddles enable you to do more easily/better?

£100 for a controller?! Does it give you a bit of a reach around too or something?

It's not £100 though, it's a bargain at only £99.85. It's quite clear in the title.

You can connect the Xbox One controller to Windows via micro USB. You can also connect the Elite controller to Windows. Windows 7 requires drivers to run it though.

Came for the comments :stuck_out_tongue:
FWIW, for the segment of the market this controller is aimed at, Microsoft has actually undercut the competition while making a far superior product.
Previous cheapest price was £110 from Amazon so heat*
*worth noting though that Microsoft are updating their controllers to use bluetooth, and it's unsure if this controller is due for the same refresh. A Gears of War themed version is due for release next month, though will run £160.

You have paddles that you can fit on the underside of the controller which you can map with any button / direction etc. This means that if you remap duck / jump / reload etc to the paddles you never have to take your thumb off the right joystick.

re mapping of buttons overall better build quality to be honest I was sceptical but took the plunge a while back when argos had a deal getting a free game when buying the controller. I did have to question myself a bit but hey its a luxury item and like someone put on this feed some people pay that for headphones if you like gaming and can afford it get one you won't be disappointed

Your halo controller had a lovley skin and perhaps the updates rev... Bumpers and mic jack. It is of the same choclate build of the standard controller.
The elite controller wont make you a better player. It will however improve your technique over time and with patience. There's more to it than fancy sticks as some would make you believe. There is gains to be had bespically on fps game.
Dont take my word for it, i have owned mines for a year now and would never go back to standard use. Im just a bit xbox ocd .
I mean people complain about the price... But then audi is a more expensive version of vw on certain models. Why would people buy audi???... I just dont get it... Madness
Imsure when this thread is through my eyes will be bleeding.
Heat to op. Good price. I got insurance care on mines and have already used unfortuatily l.

I've been scouting this for a while now, and this is the first time I've seen it below £100. Another £18 for the wireless adapter though, shame it didn't include one. What does this come under on topcashback for cashback purposes, accessories or consoles?

8 Sep 16#36
Using the paddles on the back to press the A,B,X,Y buttons means you don't need to lift your fingers off the sticks. So you can jump/reload etc. whilst still aiming. May only save micro seconds but in competitive gaming that can mean the difference between death/surviving.

they should be wirless just like latest xbox one s controllers . so elite its already not better then X1S controller.
marcd2009
8 Sep 16#39
That would be nice for portability, although would make no difference to me as i don't have Bluetooth on my motherboard so i'd still have to buy a dongle anyway. Plus you can't really blame them as this was designed and released a long while before the S revisions. They may well be working on an Elite S as we speak which might explain the price drops this is starting to see.
