In a way, Xbox One Elite is better than Xbox One Slim. The Xbox One Elite comes with the amazing Elite controller and 1TB SSD hybrid hard drive. However, it does lack 4K Blu-ray and HDR but are people really going to use either or know what they are? Probably not unless they're into tech that much.

My brother has a 3D TV and hasn't managed to find any 3D functionality at all, which annoyed him.

It plays 3D Blu Rays with an update to the blu ray player app (you have to turn it on in Xbox settings) AFAIK none of the games display in actual 3D which is disappointing since a few on last gen had 3D functionality (Halo CE to name but one)

It's also an absolute eye-sore. Even if the redesigned smaller console was the only advantage I'd rather spend the same amount on the One S all day even if the controller isn't as good.

The S is an eye sore. So...white. The Elite looks almost the same as a normal back xbox one.

I agree that the original Xbox One is big as hell but as long as you have space for it, it's not really much of an issue. Hm, kinda curious how it compares in size to the original fat PS3.

The One is slightly wider, a bigger footprint but not quite as tall. It's a fair degree lighter too, but then you have that monster power brick to contend with.
