Saw this and thought it well worth bringing to folks attention as it seems to be they have not sold many tickets so far, and I think it's a nice deal to see a classic on the big screen. (Has Had 160+ tickets available last couple of days, would be great to see it sell out, and have an auditorium full of laughter).

Loved this movie, haven't watched it in ages. Gene Wilder was fab in this as expected, as was Cleavon Little, somewhat of a late substitute for Mr Richard Pryor.

Or to cover costs? It's a great cinema, they don't charge a lot to see movies, and it's well worth a visit if you're in London.
and I love the ending with the French Mistake, etc.

Fantastic and Heart warming OP; if only I were closer. This is up There with Spinal Tap and Life of Brian for me. I never knew Cleavon was a substitute for Richard Pryor btw. Damn I wish I could go, but Heat added.<3

People might say 'you can't make Hollywood films like this anymore because of the PC crowd' bit it isn't true. Watch Sausage Party. Whilst it has its issues as a film, it does have some hilariously funny racist moments (yes racism can be funny if you allow context).
I can recite most of Blazing Saddles off by heart. You see, the white people all being called Johnson is a racist comment too (indicating an inbreeding with the early settlers due to small population sizes), and funny.

Absolutely love this film...yes it's an oldie but it is a goodie but have to agree with many of the comments above that many of the jokes would never make it past the PC brigade these days...strange when you think of some of the things that pass for "comedy" these days...suspect the PC brigade would also object to the incredibly funny (in my opinion!!) "See No Evil, Hear No Evil"...it still never fails to make me laugh and think the plot line shows imagination...shame that the same can't be said of a lot of recent film offerings....

There's plenty of offensive humour in films these days, far stronger than this film even, as mentioned above Sausage Party is just one.
I think some people are just looking for an excuse to shout "PC BRIGADE" and go on about "the good old days" wherever they can :neutral_face:

Profits = Revenue minus Costs. Costs can be anything that a creative accountant wants them to be e.g. relevant, irrelevant, fixed, variable, opportunity costs etc.
i.e. the charity might end up with nothing.

Good cause but I don't understand the "Booking Fee". It sounds like the people who are running the online ticket retailer aren't waving the booking fee for this showing. It seems disgraceful behaviour

I don't agree with booking fees generally (e.g. my local Vue charges online booking fee but not if booked in advance in person), but if they are normally charged how's it disgraceful behaviour? They don't have to run this event at all and still have costs to incur etc. (they employ good old fashioned ushers still, I think) so this fact should be celebrated, particularly as such a reasonable price for London anyway (and the only independent in the West End "cinema land")

Surprising how little Gene Wilder is in it, it is pretty much totally Cleavon Little's movie, with some other great comic actors supporting him.
