I've de-lurked to post because this annoyed me so much. As a self-confessed Vimto addict, I keep an eye out for offers. Vimto is always £2 for 2 litres in Iceland. The label on these 3 litre bottles has "50% EXTRA FREE" emblazoned round it. Iceland, in response, put the price up to £3 a bottle. So you don't get your 50% extra free - it's exactly the same price as it normally is.

It's also not the sort of bottle you'd want to use as a water bottle, so has less amenity value too

My local Poundland (Seacroft Green, Leeds) is selling 1 litre bottles with 35% extra free for 90p; yes I know I know its Poundland but a Poundworld opened next to it so they reduced all their prices to 90p!
