As a window cleaner I need pure water for cleaning windows with wfp. Tap water comes out of the tap around here at around 300 ppm (parts per million) through a Britta filter takes it down to around 200ppm. Through my filters I can get that down to zero ppm (although anything less than ten cleans the windows perfectly well). I tested the rainwater in my water butt which runs off the garage roof and that was at 13ppm. Cool story bros.

Funny that people take care of their cars, irons and buying water which is free of flouide, rust and othe chemicals. But themselves drinking tap water which heavily reduces imagination, memory, cause kidney stones, arthritis and much much more.
Distilled water = rain water.
dont trust me, trust nature.

This is > De-Ionised < not distilled, they are not the same thing.
De-ionised water helps to prevent electrolysis taking place inside the cars radiator and heater matrix.
Put rainwater in your radiator and within 3 years you will have a corroded radiator or heater matrix. Read the manufactures service recommendations and only use their recommended coolant mixed to the right concentration with De-Ionised water. You don't need to buy from the manufacture, just use the right stuff.

300ppm of what? Hopefully not 300ppm of water.

300ppm of total dissolved solids such as very small particles of metals, calcium and other minerals and salts etc that are held in suspension, or dissolved in the water.
Don't get me wrong the tap water is completely safe to drink, I just found it interesting

They blend it. I think that is the biggest reason but maybe wrong and its down to treatments.

Distilled is fine. De-Ionised tends to be distilled then de-Ionised so is also fine.
Basically for use in Lead Acid batteries the water needs to be pure, without mineral content, so don't use tap water or bottled water.
Adding water to a battery will dilute the acid so don't overfill, you only need to cover the metal plates.
