Bare in mind that if you have the original game and are buying this for the expansions, any old saves that you have on the original game won't work with this GOT edition on the PS4. You'll either need to purchase the DLC separately or start the game again.

I have a 980ti and a 4K monitor, and still choose to buy this for the PS4. Sometimes it's just about being able to play on the sofa and not at a desk.

There are more PC exclusives than there will ever be PS4 games, and I don't have to pay £30 to play remasters!
Also I watched a playthrough of Uncharted 4, so all I missed out on was pressing X during QTEs.

Cheaper and far better (mods, better graphics, framerate and resolution) on PC. And did I mention no DRM? Cold.

So by your logic some one who has an Xbox One or PS4 and doesn't have a PC, should go and pay £500+ for a decent PC to play The Witcher because it's better on that platform rather than pay £29.95 to play it on the console they already have? Sounds like a great plan.

Just about to start playing this, nothing you need from the first 2 games is there story wise? Presuming it'd give a decent intro anyways about each of the characters

Nope, you could have a look at the Witcher books since the game is based on them but you'll be good to go. You could always read a quick summary of the witcher 1 & 2 just to get a little background information but it's not necessary

Best game of the generation hands down. Nothing has quite reached the epic scale or story of this game since its release. I really hope someone can bring something soon. I sank 100+ hours into this game and DLC and need something else. I have the same empty feeling I had after completing The Last of Us on PS3.

True, if you plan to upgrade from the Base version on consoles to the goty edition it won't carry across your save progress.
Only pc lets you do that as it's treated as new game entirely for some reason on xb/ps
