There are 21 Famous Five books altogether plus some short stories according to Wikipedia. Hence the box set having 22 books I guess with the short stories making up the last book?

Causes too many chuckles when I read the famous 5 to my son about how spunky dick is, especially when Aunt Fanny comes to visit.

Fantastic some if this older stuff. Found a 1941 scout book the other day (we're opening a new scout troop) & the games in there:
Get scouts to stand in a circle, give a scout a slipper & get him to thrash the Scout to the left as they run round the circle, once they get back that scout does the same to the person on their left.
1941 games considered child abuse now roflmao.
These days the ginger beer would be replaced by cans of relentless or red bull

Adults may think these books are dated but I'm sure they could still spark the imagination of a good few kiddies. (Yes, I was once a fan too!)

Not in a good way, unless you want to encourage caual racism and disdain for the lower classes.

my favourite books as a kid as well before i got older and was in to the Hardy boys.
Best line in one of the Famous Five books was Uncle Quentin asking Dick " Dick.. Dick where's Fanny!"

is this the new version of the famous five? I heard there was a revised version with easier English but I prefer the original

Are these the politically correct modern English versions or the original version?
If original I'll pick up a copy for my kids.

Heat. Nice sale. Grabbed 10 X Diary of a Wimpy Kid books for £10 to set aside for Christmas.
Not sure why anyone would want their kids to read original Enid Blyton books though. Have fun explaining why it's not cool to call a black cat Ni**er. If political correctness equates to not being racist, I'll take politcal correctness thanks!
