There are a handful of Halal Subways branches but the majority are non Halal. Halal ones don't do ham or BLT subs and instead do Turkey subs.

So the irony here is... yespleasesir is actually RIGHT.. it's not a muslim country. It's a FREE country. Since it is a free country, it is the right of Subway (as a business) to implement measures to provide a competitive advantage in their operating market ie offer halal meat if there is a demand. But it is not a given in a free country, that they must serve the food type that you want (I don't want to eat halal).

You could try boycotting the business but actually research shows that boycotting actually rarely achieves the desirable effect.

Alternatively, at a vague guess, you could try for a country where there is restriction on freedom of religion/beliefs so there is less chances of such local demands or if there is a dictatorial control of free enterprising.

All Subways serve halal food. In fact pretty much every takeaway and restaurant serves halal food. Shock...horror....run away?

In Islam, the term halal translates to "permissible". So the salad you have with your sandwich or the water you drink is all halal because it is permissible. Knowledge is a fantastic thing, some users on here could clearly use more.

I have no problem with Halal, as said it means 'permissible' but why do the 'permissible' subways have to delete the Bacon etc, it's a choice, why not have Halal next to non 'Halal', you make your choice inside the food place and come away with your order, there is no reason why both cannot be offered.

They still sell all the same sandwiches in halal subways, you probably wouldn't even know that you have been in one. They make substitutions like BMT has turkey ham instead, I have been in loads that were halal and never even noticed

Do posters of deals attempt to post future deals as early as humanly possible? This is in the top 5 3 or 4 days before the deal starts. By the time it gets to the 22nd this will have dropped off. Post it on the day/day before.

I work for the company that supplies food to Subway and they do not only sell halal meat. The stores are franchised and state if they are halal or not.

I don't think I've ever seen a Subway that sells 21oz (597ml) drinks. The cup they give you for the fountain drinks is something like 450ml I think. It's certainly not 597ml. I've never noticed any bigger cups. Do some stores do 597ml cups for fountain drinks?

so it's acceptable in this country to serve halal meat whilst not offering non halal. Given its a free country I suppose it's OK to practise sharia law aswell then, if takes people fancies. After all, it's acceptable in certain sovereignty's. I'm sure if it "provided a competitive advantage" or boosted the profits of some establishments then it would be ok wouldn't it? Because as long as it makes business sense then it's OK yaa?

That's not true, I've contacted the one at Birmingham Swan Shopping Centre. They're doing it.

It is 100% true. It is a regional promotion, Subway's marketing is coordinated regionally. That isn't to say there won't be other similar promotions on the same day elsewhere.

As it is not a national promotion, the vast majority of stores (ie: 95%) are not participating.

All you lot going on about Subway being Halal and how you're not going to eat Turkey Bacon. If you're so serious about not eating halal you would know that Halal subways use stunned meat.

In fact there is a debate in the Muslim community about stunned halal being permissable or not. Most of these chains who sell halal in some of their stores sell stunned meat.

Reading that document you've sent and a link on the website - it only appears to be for the "anglia" region....

The comments here seem to be mainly fixated on the issue of halal food, which is not really relevant to the deal!
My problem with this deal is that it is not immediately clear that this deal is only for a region in England (Anglia) and not nationwide.

Before, on their facebook, I had seen one of their own posts suggesting many Subways in the country would be taking part but at the discretion of the franchise owners, and for the Anglia area, a list had been produced. It wasn't limited to Anglia, but that was where the original focus was, with many stores outside the area choosing to take part. Now I can't find that message and they have reworded their stock facebook reply. It looks like it is likely just the ones on the list that will take part now. The list is in the OP.

imagine traipsing around town only to find nobody is running it, that's really going to make you want to try their 4 day old slimy chicken in a bap.

I've found the total opposite, in Bristol and London the cheap crap takeaways with poor hygiene​ tend to be halal whereas good quality restaurants like to use ethically sourced meat. Halal meat isn't only bad to buy due to the awful torture the animal endures but it also tends to be the lowest quality meat.

I was in Anglia but pushed for time today. I didn't try because of the previous token/ voucher comments.

The customer appreciation day is only applicable in the Anglia region at participating stores only! The franchisee decides if they wish to take part sites like this are great at posting offers but do not unfortunately give the full information which as we have had today gives us verbal abuse from disgruntled customers. If the store is participating it has to display the signage in the window so no signage no deal
