People need to stop buying the Slim, it doesn't even have Optical out for one, but the Pro has a RRP or £350.

True, but some might not have seen that. As it is, I've bought this for my nephew, using his student
account. You get 10% discount plus a £5 student discount (code shown above) valid for a few days I think...in addition....yes in addition to another 5% off if you log in to their NUS account and take the code from there. All in all, I got this deal for just over £260. Took my old head a little bit of time to work it all out but I went to bed happy last night.

As a PS4 lover, I've had to jump ship to xbox one s, just for the 4K BluRay player - Sony really missed a trick here. The xbox is cheaper too - craziness!

your choice,however as an ex-xbox one owner,I have zero interest in 4k blurays and xbox simply lacks MANY sony exclusives,I'm not talking about just big block buster exclusives but smaller exclusive titles that I cannot ignore,many of them by Japanese companies,no were to be found on Xbox.

Don't forget the Xbox hardware in both the original Xbox One and Xbox One S hardware is weaker, cheaper to manufacture than PS4 stronger more expensive hardware that's why they can make it cheaper.
Also who would buy a 4K TV this early? 4k tv's will become more standard and cheaper much later on with input lag being worked on as of now nearly all 4k tv's has really high input lag which is terrible for gaming. By the time PS5 comes around 2019 or later that's when 4k tv's will be at it's prime

Why would you want a steelbook of Fifa? The series is crap, and loses value very very quickly. Plus it's basically pointless after a year because they release a new "version" which is almost exactly the same as the previous one but with database changes, something that could be done with an update. They complain about COD being repetitive.
Personally think them releasing the Slim was a silly idea, should have focused more on the PRO. Even then I still think they'll lose this cycle.

Got this for £260 yesterday thanks to 10% student deal plus 5% further student discount. Very happy with that. Makes the console effectively £180.
I didn't want to wait for the Pro as I'll use PC to get a proper 4K experience instead.

not a good deal at all.the price difference between this and pro is minimal,
the slim is really made to be the budget version and the price WILL drop to £200ish very soon when the Pro arrives.that's the plan.
discontinue the original,sell the Pro for £300-£350 and the Slim for £200

There is little performance wise over a ps4 and a xb1, yes the ps4 is more powerful than the xb1 but the specs are so similar the costs of the components will be almost identical especially in the bulk that both companys use.
The truth is MS has to have the cheaper console as its less powerful.
A lot of 4k tvs have very low input lag, especially the samsungs which are in the low 20's ms range, LG, Sony and Panasonic are in the 30's that's around the same as HDTV's and that's far from really high input lag.
Personally if I was looking at getting a console I'd pay the little bit extra for the PS4 pro when it's out as it's a fair bit more powerful than all the consoles currently out.

The 4k TVs right now doesn't have as great low input lag as some 1080p TVs right now but it'll get better over time I'm sure.
Also HDR adds even more input lag which is too much when you add all that together.
Personally I'll stick with my 1080p TV for now and get a new proper 4k HDR TV around 2020 before the Olympics by then the prices will be much lower and also all the tech within the TV will be more standardised and improved.

PS4 is the original machine, the PS4 Slim is a slimmer version of that machine minus an optical port. The PS4 Pro is the big brother of them all with a lot more power under the hood.

Yeah, it's a shame Uncharted has come to an end. I'll keep both consoles anyway, but I don't feel any need to upgrade the PS4 at the moment.

Thanks. Also had a quick look on the net and it seems that the biggest selling point of the pro is the 4K capability. Might just get a slim to start off with, have no plans to get a 4k tv any time soon.
