The 800 series didn't get a HDR upgrade, only the 850 upwards.

I have this tv, bought it for this price from Amazon on prime day. I have bought then sold/returned a few 4k tvs for different reasons and I might have been lucky with this set becausevit has minimal banding and light bleed. It does have some clouding but this is not noticable during day or night time viewing.
On HDR this tv does play HDR files - my other 2015 model did not play the LG HDR demo.
Picture quality is brilliant , sound is also very good. It has good motion handling and the active 3D is suprisingly good, minimal crosstalk.
It depends on what kind of TV you want - if you want a 65 inch 4k tv that overall is good quality but without HDR then pick this up asap!
An alternative is the lg oled 55 inch which is 4k and supports HDR - think there is a post on here for it - £200 more but it is oled HDR but on the other hand its a smaller tv.

Good 65" 4K TVs can be had for much less than this. You're paying a hefty premium for a gimmicky curved screen.

Can you suggest the make and model you are referring to? Possibly a link?

I have been using the 55" version of this TV for the past 10 months so can speak from experience and notice the difference with the curved screen compared to flat, but each to their own I guess.

I would have considered this Sony if it was less than £900.
You can get Hisense 65M5500 65 for £799 @ Argos and the picture quality is as good as the Sony LG or Samsung.
