Read before voting as the price of £143.79 is a 'worst case' price, potentially £73.14
So broadband deals rarely go hot on here. But worth a shot as this is super hot in my opinion.
Sky basic broadband (decent enough for most people). Is currently free for 12 months (£10 afterwards) on a 12 month contract with £17.40 line rental.
However you currently get a £100 prepaid Mastercard if you're a new customer.
If you go on TopCashback they give you a deal with a £75 prepaid Mastercard + £65.65 cashback. However when I clicked through TCB through to SKY it said the mastercard was £100 and this was confirmed on check out.
Line installation is £20 and router delivery is £9.99.
Best case scenario (which I'm pretty confident of):
£17.40 line rental + £29.99 installs cost - £165.65 in mastercard/cashback = broadband for £6.10 per month.
Worst case scenario if it all goes t*** up:
£17.40 line rental + £29.99 install costs - £75 mastercard (and TCB doesn't track/fails) = £13.65 which is still pretty cheap.

Yep, similar things have been posted but I think this one just pips it to the post.
Either way it seems to be the cheapest 12 month broadband option out there at the moment.
If you want >12 months or aren't willing to change every 12 months, then it's not for you. But for me it's excellent.

Anyone know what costs are involved in getting a master socket moved? It's in the back bedroom, totally in the wrong place for a wireless router, and plugging it into an extension seemed to reduce the speed. So I ended up going with Virgin just so I could get the router installed where I wanted it. Coming to the end of the contract now though.

Are you sure
I've been with Sky Broadband since Oct 2015, and my current Router sync speeds are 23,998 downstream and 1,165 upstream. I'm 100% confident that these figures are correct, as 1) I'm an ex-telecom engineer with 17 years experience on Openreach, 2) I live less than 1/2 mile from my local exchange, and my 20 year old property is fed by an EO cable, 0.80mm gauge in thickness, 3) I know for a fact that my local exchange has had the DSLAM's upgraded to ADSL2+ and 4) My regular SamKnows Whitebox emails that I get every month confirm that my average download speed is never no less than 21 Mbps ...
So, on copper broadband, decent speeds are possible. Certainly don't need FTTP or even FTTC here at my house.
I appreciate that Sky broadband might not be suitable for everyone, but you can say the same about any other broadband provider (PlusNet, BT etc). In fact when I left BT, and had my free employee broadband stopped, and I chose Sky (because of the offer that was on at the time) my actual broadband speed actually increased !

I'm currently with Virgin Media (tv, internet and phone). I would like to change to a cheaper deal, however, my 18-year-old son plays a lot of X-Box live, etc. He built himself a gaming computer to use with his X-Box. I've already talked to him about changing internet supplier but he says that he needs a super fast internet speed to play his games and that the fastest speeds are with Virgin Media. I use a computer a lot to do my work and my teenage daughter is usually on the internet (using her laptop). Are any of these SKY broadband deals actually suitable for fast gaming on an X-Box (as well as other people using the internet at the same time in the house)? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello. I am currently with Sky and have had awful gaming issues for my son playing online with his system. The reason for that I am switching to BT in two week's due to the very low mb we are getting. My son doesn't even get 1 Meg a lot of the time to connect and play. We have exchanged room's and tried a plug in signal booster. No avail. Along with sky sending a new router out. Nothing work's. Constantly going on about his gaming and it cutting out / not being able to join a lobby to play. I personally wouldn't recommend sky broadband for a strong gamer. We previously had BT fibre and we're getting 38mb through out. So we know,it is sky's broadband. Hope this help's

Thank you for letting me know this - I can imagine my son would be just like your's if I get the Sky broadband, so think I will bang that idea on the head now. Did you find that the 38mb with BT was good enough for your son when gaming and did it ever cut out/slow down? I think we are getting over 70mb with Virgin Media and I know that my son is happy with that, but hoping to cut back on the monthly cost a bit. I get all of my services from Virgin Media. Did you just get the broadband with BT or did you have a phone and tv package as well? You say that you are going back to BT in a couple of weeks, have you already been offered a deal/package for this - if so, if you don't mind, could you give me some idea as to what to ask for when I ring them up? I have an old BT line in my house but have been using Virgin Media for around 10 years now. Thank you.

Hi  BT did cut out often but it always have a high speed connection in between. They did say it was my line and not their end of fault. I won't be going back with sky for broadband again purely due to my son's low speed. It is awful. I would love to go with virgin but they don't do it here so the next best thing is BT  I previously just had the broadband with BT. I wasn't offered a deal to go back to them. I did haggle and try to get even a little deal but they won't have it like sky will. Sky are good like that. I managed to get everything half price with sky but the broadband is the issue. If the payment differences per month are not that different with virgin compared to BT I'd stick with virgin. As BT are expensive also. Hope this help's

How does this work? How long before your contract ended did you call? And by 'cancel', do you mean you ended up without broadband at all until they called you back? I am also on the MSE deal which was pretty much free for the last year, now considering going with Plusnet - that would be only £106 a year, since you only pay for the line rental, you get £60 cashback from Quidco plus £50 cashback from Plusnet.

It's due to end at the end of the month. I gave notice of cancellation and they offered free BB, just pay line rental which I declined. 2 days later I received the email offering to pay my line rental for the year if I contact them by the 22nd. It's a generic looking email with a big banner saying "have your line rental on us" not an email from the Sky rep personally or anything.
I was going to get the other half signed up on this deal which is cheaper all things considered but I'm in two minds now.

To balance, myself and others have earned thousands through Topcashback. Not doubting you've had a bad experience but nothing wrong with topcashback whatsoever, same if not better success rate than Quidco here. As always though, never make a decision based purely on cashback as it is never 100%.

I could well just be very lucky but if you fancy a gamble, I signed up to this Sky Broadband and went live with the service a few weeks ago. I contacted them on live chat saying I'd seen that they offer cashback through Quidco and had improved the gift card from £75 to £100 and could they give free fibre unlimited for 12 months. A quick chat to a manager and this was added to my account.
As I say, this is in no way guaranteed but if the standard broadband would be acceptable to you in a worst case scenario then I'd say go for Sky and try and haggle a cheap/free upgrade to Fibre once you are live.
