Reserved this morning...just to receive a cancellation call in the afternoon :smirk: Think it's only good for cars with protective coatings on. If you don't have one then it's not ideal since you have to go over the car again to put on any polish or wax.

I washed my car today and used too much shampoo, made the water way too soft and took my wax off. So I did a wet re-wax then added a cheeky bit of silicone. The man talks sense, listen to him.

This won't damage my paintwork will it? Can I just use this as normal shampoo?
Obviously it is wax free..

No, it wont damage it, but it usually makes any wax less effective so you will have to re-wax your car for water to bead properly.

And I will give you a little tip, if you ever see any of that dashboard shine cheap you can spray that on when you have waxed your car, just make sure its silicone based. It acts like a finishing polish. Just rub it in with a microfiber cloth and buff, your car will sparkle. And at the same time it makes any rubber trim look the bees knees.

Thanks for your reply, is it stupid to ask why it is a bad think for water to bead on your car? I presume this is just for looks?

Cheeky whippersnapper. and no but I remember my mum doing that. And using vinegar so it stunk the house out. I dislike vinegar to this day.

Its a good idea for water to bead, it shows you have a nice protective layer of wax. If you never wax when you get little paint chips etc the water will find a way to rust metal quicker.
The reasoning in using dashboard cleaner is because its packed with silicone, which most polishes contain, but it doesn't have the abrasive effect of polish. Its literally quick detailing polish, the same way nail varnish is cellulose paint.
