Personally when I signed up to Amazon Prime there was an offer on, it was (I think) £59.99 for a year. Additionally, the Amazon Echo which was recently announced which was on offer to Prime members whereby you could save £50.

I asked on chat and the guy said yes, later they changed there mind. But I got a survey filled it in as 0 for everything and they asked if I wanted a call to chat about it. I put yes they called had a look at the chat and agreed that I had been told I could have it and credited me a £25 voucher. I guess I got lucky

Yep, you are correct, the BBC let his contract run out rather than sacking him, which is a ridiculous thing to do after what he did, they should be protecting their staff.
Anyways, I only commented on this as this deal is a promo for the new show, if you want amazon prime it's a good deal, shame they are not doing the deal on the Fire TV though, much better piece of kit with 4K.

My Fire TV stick is pretty snappy in use, voice search works really well and the streamed TV very rarely has issues. Why do I need a faster stick.
The FireTV stick is about 2 years old so probably due a hardware refresh as the components becoming end of line.but they work fine as they are intended, so unless you want to root it and put something else on, or want to play more games on it, being faster or having more memory makes very little difference in the real world.

I don't watch top gear full stop, having Clarkson on Amazon will turn as many customers off as they hope he will bring, rewarding his attitudes and behaviour with a bumper contract after being sacked is a joke.
I pay a license fee as I have to, but most of my watching is on SPMC.
