I have been shopping around for weeks trying to find a decent smart TV with a good screen size and saw that Tesco had this TV on for £279.99 and was ready to but however has been out of stock for a while, it is now back in stock at a discounted price of £229.

I guess people think they are getting a 48" branded TV for £228.....
In reality its another UMC TV from a factory in Slovakia (Think Blaupunkt, Alba, Bush, Technika) with a Sharp Badge stuck on it...
But for £229 quid fIf you just want a biggish TV for not much cash then it's not a bad deal on the face of it....

HUKD is not some tiny blog, it's a site that gets hundreds of thousands if not millions of visitors each month. For it to have people at the sinful time of 10:30pm is not exactly surprising...

Works like a charm on my ps4 mate, the picture quality is amazing and the sound is also loud which I didn't expect. Top buy

Mine came today. Everything was looking new and nice but unfortunately TV is bend on the middle top frame.
After further inspection of box there was some small signs of bending so probably was damage during delivery.
It's working fine, nice picture and sound quality.
Waiting for replacement

For those that ordered this, inspect the packaging/TV well, as you might be unlucky like me and get a shoddy returns TV delivered. When the courier carried it in i noticed straight away the box had previously been opened due to a thin bit of cellotape put over the original opened tape on top.The courier said it could be a returns and low and behold when opening it it was. The box was quite tatty, the inner packaging polystyrene was snapped in half, the TV plug was loose and the TV legs loose in box with one TV leg in a child's clothing plastic packaging hanger ???, so very obviously a returns TV. I phoned up Tesco who informed me the TV came direct from Sharp themselves (as its a TV Tesco doesn't stock in there warehouses) and apparently Sharp will phone within 2 working days to arrange a collection. Tesco did ask if i wanted a replacement, but after they told me the TV came direct from Sharp it didnt fill me with confidence, as all i could think of was Steptoe and Son for some reason lol. Im still in disbelief i got a second hand/returns tv.

The only things that look good in 4K are sport and nature, everything else just screams studio or special effects.
The TVs are too far ahead of the available output!

Not true at all...a good NON HDR 4K TV is still going to be able to display a 4k image and a will look better than a 1080p TV. HDR will just improve on this again.
Also the upscalers in most of last years branded (Samsung/Sony/LG) NON HDR TV's is of a far higher quality than those in the comparative 1080p model so even upscaled content looks better than on a similar aged 1080p TV

Cold. This is only 1080p. You can get a 4K for not much more.
4K isn't worth it unless it's HDR. Given all the 4K HDR stuff is coming. This is a good price for a TV of this size. Though probably a vestel or something so not likely to last.

This is full HD TV. Full HD is dead. All the new players like nvidia shield, amazon TV.,xbox one s, ps4 Pro come with 4k now. Buy a 4k TV instead of this old garbage.

I have the 43" Sharp TV, and while I'm very happy with it, I am utterly disappointed in the "Smart" features. No Netflix, no Prime Video... just Facebook and Twitter.
Wish I'd have just gone with the non smart version, and saved some cash.

I'll second that. A Now TV box does far more than the sharp smart....mine went back. Tesco customer service were very good though.

Problem is not thinking, is not knowing!
There are not 100s of LCD Panel manufacturers in the world! There is about or less than one hands full! All brands use one of these panels graded on scales like 9-10 goes to Samsung/Sony etc... Rest of the brands just makes casing and uses lower grade (quality) panels...
Most panels are shipped unassembled to factories around the world for cost/maybe tax benefits by building (cough assembling) in the target country(ies)... they leave some customization of boards/designs/software elements to target countries... it doesnt always come out great but you get what you pay for!

I eventually returned my
Sharp tv due to handshake issues with my PS3 and ps4. And the fact that after having 3 of them The remote still randomly stopped working. Wouldn't buy another.

sounds like a HUKD scam. How can this deal be so hot that it reaches 115 heat late in the night within 27mins of posting. It's not even that great a deal.
