I have one it's rubbish. Very rarely reaches usb 2 speeds and won't connect to my usb 3 port some of the time. Get a proper drive and an OTG lead from Kenable like one of these.
I have one of these and they really don't work all that well with phones due to a number of reasons, do some research on OTG, android and drive/disk formats to learn about it.

Would this be iPhone 6 compatible? Just thinking for transferring pics vids when on our travels as our phones are always full.

Nope its Micro USB, Apple uses a lightning port and even then, they would probably make it so you cant use these so they make more money off the higher GB models.

Have you not got the PS Cloud?? Its only a GB limit for cloud saves, everything else is easily (but slow) downloaded back onto the system, game saves etc!! Otherwise yes this would be useful for.back up :smiley:
