Don't mislead people... You can't just 'convert' this to Lightning with an adapter. Your second suggestion of the iXpand or similar is the only real option.
Abdishah, if you are really thinking about torrenting on an iPhone use something like iTransmission or save yourself all the hassle and just get a cheap Android or Windows tablet to use as a secondary device. Trust me, coming from someone who used to use an iPhone, things like this can be resolved with jailbreaking, mods and all kinds of other things but eventually it's just cheaper to get a different device that can do all this from the off.
That's so you can use a micro-USB cable with an iPhone. Not so you can use an OTG device as the iPhone doesn't support USB OTG. Stop making things up which are completely wrong and do your research first.
So that shows it working with this SanDisk Ultra OTG drive does it? Seriously just admit you're wrong. If you want to go plugging things that don't work into your own phone that's fine but stop suggesting other people do it.
Just because you can use the adapter to import photos or for a MIDI link doesn't mean you have OTG access.
If I had got it wrong I would just admit it, not dig myself a deeper hole.

The stick the OP posted does not and will not work on iPhones, it's not a debate or 'my opinion', it's reality. That is why SanDisk makes the iXpand specifically for the iPhone. Do you not think if a cheap adapter allowed any OTG drive to be used on an iPhone people might not just go and do that instead?

Both thunderbolt and the lightening connector support usb. Adding thunderbolt into the conversation wasn't needed by my part.
Regardless iphone 5 and above with ios 9.2 supports otg... Not all applications support it though. If you want to rant at me, fine; i don't really care..

Yeah and please don't ever suggest that iphones are essentially useless unless you jailbreak them or buy this adaptor or that adaptor, you're going to upset an awful lot of status seekers!! :laughing:

Great device and shed loads of space. I got mine for £18.99 during one amazon's lightening deals :smiley:. For those that like to carry plenty of media with them a small handy device, this rather cool :0) At £21.99, it's still a great bargain.....heated up :smiley:

Great if you have a humax pvr, can copy and paste the .ts files and swap to an android device via USB otg very quickly (then use MX Player to watch)

I have a Humax PVR, two in fact. A PVR-9200T & A PVR-9300T. Looked into this very subject a couple of years ago. At the time seemed like a major PITA, if at all possible to get the programmes off it? :disappointed: Is it now possible with these gadgets?

It is a source of continuous amazement to me how Apple gets away with it. charging more for less? You would of thought that Apple products would have gone they way of the likes of " internet explorer ", it is there but the majority in the know dont use it anymore!

That's a file format limitation rather than a hardware limitation, the FAT32 format only supports a maximum filesize of 4GB but it has the advantage that it's near universally supported so it works with Windows, Android, Linux, OSX etc without issue. You can use a different file system but then you can run into compatibility issues depending on what devices you want to use with this.

Anyway I'm not going to bother arguing with you any more over this. The fact is this USB stick (that the OP posted) will not working on an iPhone - unless you plug it into something like the SanDisk Wireless Connect or similar.

Yes it will (as long as your box accepts USB for PVR storage) but you may as well get a normal and cheaper USB drive as the OTG function would be largely wasted on this application.
