The Ultra is not the same as the Extreme: big speed difference especially on the write cycle.

How do SanDisk cards fare in Samsung phones nowadays?
Myself and many, many others had trouble using them in Samsung handsets like the S3 and S4. The cards often formatted themselves or became unrecognisable. My SanDisk Ultra kept on unmounting itself before eventually dying.

I think one big issue right now is there are no Samsung cards that have the latest U3/v30 rating. Even the Evo Plus only writes at 20MB/s so not officially optimised for 4K video or adoptable storage (even though it might work). The Sandisk Extreme series can go faster than U3/V30 and seem to say they are optimised for Android which could be why the reviews are all good. BTW - I have an S7 Edge and would prefer buying a Samsung branded card but if there's nothing new availabe from them may have to give Sandisk another go.
