Found these Salter MiBODY Blurtooth weight scales in Argos today reduced from £49.99 to £37.49 if you use offer code BATH20 it reduces it by 20% to £29.99. They are currently on sale in Amazon for £52.58 so it's a big saving. I've just tested them and they are great just download the salter MiBODY app and it syncs with the scales instantly and records your weight also body water also body fat and stores it all on app. States on the box they come with a 15 year guarantee
Hope it helps a few

Thanks OP. I already have a FitBit Aria in one bathroom and the older Salter MiBody USB scales in the other. Tempted to replace the old Salter with this one. The EAN says its for the black version but the pic on Argos is the white version. Can you confirm which you received? I wanted the black one.

Does it sync automatically? Or am I right to assume that you'd have to go into the app to make it sync?
dtlewis28 to LittleRedRidingHood
17 Sep 161#9
You set up the app with all your details before you use the scales etc then once you stand on the scales it auto syncs
LittleRedRidingHood
17 Sep 16#10
Thank you! So after the initial app setup, it auto syncs as soon as I step off the scale and I wouldn't actually have to go into the app?

No it auto syncs it lists the day the weight was taken the time and also lists your BMI how much water and fat your body is holding for £30 is amazing value

can this sync/upload to Garmin connect or any other 3rd parties, or is it all just held in the salter app?

Thanks OP, ordered a couple for collection tomorrow.
My Dad's taken up walking to get in shape and has wanted some scales so he can keep track of progress. Thought I may as well grab some for myself aswell at this price.
Does anyone recommend any alternatives to consider at a similar price range? Just need reasonably accurate scales (I know the analyser part won't be that accurate, but will use that more to look at trends then absolute values) with a decent App. Most others I've considered have been double this price.

Just to let you know I actually purchased the most expensive wi-fi scales yesterday from Argos the garmin index they were £130 reduced to £103 with the discount code and they were returned today for these £30 ones. Don't get me wrong the garmin scales looked absolutely amazing and very heavy and well made a huge screen but it wouldn't sync with my iPhone and after searching for help online it's a extremely common fault on the garmin so I've saved myself £73 and these salter scales connected in around 2 seconds with my iPhone and the app works better than the garmin one so expensive is always best as I've learnt today

You either enter the code online if you require delivery or just reserve the item like I did and tell the cashier the code they will reduce the 20% off

No need to buy this thing. I'm holding out until they release the MiBody toilet as it comes with an integrated set of scales so you can measure the weight of each poo. It really cuts out the crap so you can get an accurate measure of your body weight.

Great find but not WI-FI, Just ordered anyway. I think wi-fi would flatten the battery....

Not necessarily - my FitBit Aria are wi-fi and the batteries last for months.

Very strange mine measures all of them but ive received the black model if that makes a diffrence
Just picked it up, they've got the wrong description up, arguing now to get the black model, the white model doesn't do body fat or anything else, it only does BMI and weight.

The EAN from the Argos description is this model (without body analyser features):
Yes, that's the one I've received in black. I'll be returning it tomorrow.
Av1032
18 Sep 16#34
Reccomend returning it, £30 for a scale without any additional options is a waste of money. Argos messed up with the only description and don't sell the black model with all the additional features

Exchanged to the black at a different store, called customer service

I just went and collected one its black and has all the extras with no hassle - also does anyone else have issues with the app, it freezes and crashes all the time so i cant acutally use the features

18 Sep 16#40
The one I have has supposedly the additional features but the main setting I wanted is messed up, I know for a fact I'm not 29% body fat, going to call up salter and complain tomorrow
I got that one as well. There is a sticker on the back of the scales that says: 9159 BK3R

How accurate is yours? Also do the 4 things for the legs fit, mine don't which means it's grossly inaccurate

Any chance you can post a picture of the box for your scales?

The body fat percentage seems to be way off. The mass itself is accurate though.
One problem that I can't work out. How do you have multiple users with the app? I seem to be able to have one user at a time. Do I have to use a different mobile phone / tablet for each user?

The feet attachments are for carpet only. I'm using it on a tiled surface so using them without.
Scales generally don't work very well on carpet even with the attachments.

I'm investigating further. I'm comparing results to my FitBit Aria which are in the main bathroom.
I've checked the results of those scales against a Tanita MC-780MA which is are professional segmental body composition machines costing over £4000 and the Aria is actually pretty accurate.
Still can't work out how to have multiple users configured in the app though.

These aren't hugely accurate, at best it's only really your deltas that will be useful and accurate, even then its got multiple variables that can skew it and you would need to calibrate it properly for it to be accurate.

Got both mine. Checked and they both say Bluetooth on them and have the sticker on the side of the box. Trying to decide wether to keep.
Positives:
Look decent
Syncs with App well and keeps record, with graphs and individual daily records
You can register account, so can transfer data to new phone
Accurate weight
Measures Body Fat / BMI / Muscle Mass / Body Water
Negatives:
App can only handle one user (would like to keep a track of our daughters weight aswell). Otherwise you have to log out and sign in as another user.
Interpretation of data is limited. Doesn't calculate BMR for example. Only a couple of the metrics provide ranges in the graph view telling you whats low/normal/high.
Can't export data to another App or service (for example health kit). Which would help mitigate the previous negative.
Possibly would be more convenient if it had Wifi, but not a major concern really.
Would appreciate some thoughts from people that have more advanced scales. Wether its worth investing a bit more. The major negative is the lack of analysis. We used to have a more advanced Tanita scale with the pull up handles (but it was offline of course) and that told you a range of analysis based on the measurements which I found more useful (BMR, body age, etc).

I went to a different Argos branch and changed the white ones without the extra features to the black ones. Definitely worth doing it. Otherwise I would have returned for a refund.
I think it's the same. It's just pot luck which are you going to get. The number on the black box is 538/1614.

I've got mine, but can't sync it. Mainly because, whatever I do, the scales switches itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyone got any idea how I can extend the display time or what I'm doing wrong. In case it makes a difference, I've got the white version of the scales.
Edit :- I've actually managed to get it to sync now, by constantly retrying. Now that I've established the sync, I get much more time before the display blanks.

They've just pushed an update which adds health kit integration. Pleasant surprise
So far happy with mine, not sure how accurate the BMI measurements are as absolute values. But using them as relative measures works well for me so far.
My only grip, now that I know I regularly use it, is perhaps I should have gone for a wifi enabled scale as I don't often remember to take my phone so measurements don't get delivered daily to the phone.
Opening post
Hope it helps a few
