Decent price from a reliable retailer. Game are selling it at £42.

Wish this would be just a touch cheaper. Think my 2016 preorder was about £27.

That's the issue I am having. Pro should be cheaper as we aren't paying for all of the licenses or having squad updates on time.

same here and then promptly sold it as online play was shocking so unless a similar price turns up there will be no way I will be buying this until honest online gameplay reviews are out.

yeah 2016 was brilliant just don't know if it's improved enough to buy straight away or wait a few months for when they do the patches

I was angry by online a lot but just got fibre connecting it by a wire too and it was a lot better. still, it shouldn't be so bad on normal internet when other games cope well

Demo is amazing. I aint a PES fan but I am sick of Fifa scripting and cartoon graphics. Bought on PS4 so can edit kits/badges etc with patch via USB stick. Just not very good at it online and the menu and game modes aint as good as Fifa, gameplay wise Pes wins hands down. ps aint played Fifa 17 but won't have changed that much. Already pre-ordered both

Got mine preordered already. 2016 (PES) was definitely a return to form. The only fixes I hope get addressed for 2017 is online, lag in particular. Online was noticeably slower to recognise joypad input. If this year online can play and feel as well as offline...PES is king again.

Does anyone know how long the price takes to go down? Getting it for the other half for xmas, love getting stuff in early but if it'll be down in a couple of months then I'll wait

Definitely wait. PES has a tendency to drop fast.

PES over FIFA. Really?

2 Sep 162#19
Really. Pro Evo played so much better than FIFA last year, not all the licenses but patches fixed that. Must admit though, 2017 demo is noticeably slower, lets see what the finished product brings as will still buy on release.

The last decent FIFA was '14, (which didn't match the greatness of '13). Ever since then EA has gotten complacent relying wayy too much on the slot-machine that is Fifa Ultimate Team at the expense of the quality of their main game. While I've not bought a PES in half a decade, I've been impressed with how it seems to be coming back to form ever since they switched to the FOX engine (excluding their god-awful PC ports). Now that they have data transfers on PS4, it's definitely got me considering going PES this year.

Had PES the last couple of years now. Yes, the presentation of FIFA is way ahead. However, I get the game for the gameplay. PES wins here for me hands down.

I loved 2016 bit gave up on it because of lag cheaters. It's endemic online. If they fix that I'll be buying it.

The Goalkeeping last year completely ruined the game for me. I bought it for £27, waited for it to be patched, never got fixed (properly), which has put me off PES now. And the fact that every time it takes them a good while to even have updated squads is pathetic. Usually, I look past all of their short-comings because of their gameplay (even when the gameplay was sh.it on PS3 I stayed loyal), but the keepers were ridiculous, and the speed they took/take to fix anything is beyond laughable. Don't get me started on online play. Sadly, Fifa deserves to be king, PES will never return to its former glory. It'll just be a game mostly played by (in the UK) the late 20s and middle-aged men.

Blah blah "licences" almost every thread with the same argument, download the option file online at launch and there's your licences and team names and whatever, then enjoy potentially more superior gameplay compared to the other side

Works out slightly cheaper to buy this on SimplyGames as it's the exact same price but can also claim quidco cashback through there.

As much as I am happy PES is much more enjoyable than Fifa (like the old days), I'm assuming MyClub will be released for free again?
If so really have no need to buy this..

This years game is looking great, the team are really getting to grips with the Fox Engine. FIFA whilst I'll play that also is on a new engine this year (Frostbite), so will take a year to show its potential proper.
agree i bought last years after trying the demo but online play was dreadfull so sold after 1 week

I played the demo last night, my keeper made the most incredible save I've ever seen on a console game, tipping a deflected shot on the post. I replayed it about 6 times....my biggest problem with 2016 has seemingly been fixed.

It was the biggest problem last year and they've changed it by adding super keepers. Crazy, crazy saves during my play of the demo too. Great to see. Very difficult to score = more celebration for each goal you score. Like the good old days.

Played a few games and you will be pleased to know it plays quicker than the Demo, looks fantastic and Liverpool are Liverpool! Only downside is the teams are well out of date, ie Benteke still at Liverpool.
Very pleased with this so far, live updates not on yet so can't play My Club properly.

pes is more about simulation. if people are looking for a fantasy league then head over to pro evo network. for a community that supports fair play and a great set up.
