I have to say. I take my comment back, PES 2017 is decent, gave it abit more time. Just got to be patient. In FIFA I'm used to the pressure defence pushing players off the ball (which is an awesome job done by Fifa, which should be implemented in PES).
But yeah, PES plays very well

It was £26 in my local yesterday but I didn't have my clubcard vouchers with me so I thought I would come back the next day... only to find out it's back to £36 now :disappointed: And I got a £3 off £20 purchase voucher in Tesco yesterday too, should have just bought with cash, but oh well.

Not one to give up on the chase I have since my post called customer services and spoke to a very nice lady who did a search of my local postcode stores(10 mile radius) and she said there was 1 still showing at the lower price of £26 and even though she said the price should now be £36 she would allow the store to sell it me at the lower price as long as its picked up today.
As to me being "pee'd off" it was not at the fact that YES the price had changed but to the fact that she was saying the people on hotdeals may not be telling the truth about the lower price of £26 but not to worry I am off to the store who WILL be selling me the game for £26 and on Christmas morning when my son opens the game I will be thankful to the OP of this deal and also thankful to the lady from Tesco's customer services for allowing me to have the game at the lower price.
As you rightly said "Not everyone gets every deal" but a little bit of time(and maybe a phone call) is all it takes to make sure you do not miss out a deal.
In the words of William Edward Hickson(also known as W. E. Hickson) he is credited as saying
'Tis a lesson you should heed:
Try, try, try again.
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try, try again.

Wath - Tesco Extra - I went in at 5pm yesterday, they had a display box with the "take this to electronics counter" label. Lady at the checkout went to fetch me a copy, and fetched a second copy to leave next to the til for the next lucky customer (but can't imagine she/they would stop anyone buying multiple copies?) scanned at £26, no problems.

Ehh, Konami are still **** for the way they are re-using the PS3 version as the PC version so it actually looks worse than the PS4/Xbone
I like PES but that's a bit of a low bar for them to clear given it's been pretty crappy online in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if for a lot of people that's still the case.

Might be just me and a handful of people on PES forums then, I must admit the first game was almost lag-free but the next few was just bad. I might keep my copy for offline as I don't want to get sucked into FIFA again (the online there isn't perfect but 9 out of 10 games are playable - can't say the same for PES). Still, £26 for this game is great value.

I didn't want to dis your sport if that is what you like, and I did enjoy the wheelchair basketball in the Paralympics. Calling it cerebral may be stretching it a bit though! Just wanted to make a point that a football game must be a lot harder

Managed to get one today. Price on shelf £26, none on display so asked them to check the back. Brought one out and it scanned at £36. Told them it was £26 on the shelf, they checked and said it was a mistake (took the £26 label away) but honoured the lower price.
Think it's going to be back at £36 everywhere now

LOL OK then. Basketball is an incredibly cerebral sport, all about creating and anticipating space. The game is deliberately designed to be fast-paced hence the 24-second shot clock. I get from your comment that you're not a fan but to dismiss it as a simplistic sport is simply incorrect.

Just been into my local Tesco(NG18-Oak tree lane store) and the price on the PS4 stand/display was showing £36 so took to to checkout to see if it scanned at the lower price of £26 but sadly it scanned at £36 I showed her this thread and she said well "anybody" can say they have something but it may not be true and at that point I left the store.
Not very happy with Tesco's after the last comment as its people like the people who go on this site that YES we save money but we ALSO spend a lot of our hard earned cash in Tesco's and help partly to keep them in business.

Hahahaha pathetic pes fannyboy and his little pretend football game. Enjoy. Maybe you can buy a nintendo instead and play the cartoony games on there. That seems to be your level.

Yeah funnily enough i actually prefer a football game that plays well and adds realism with real names for the players, stadiums and commentary. Call me old fashioned or fan boy or whatever but to actually try and defend a game that forces you to edit the setup before it is considered 'good to go' is pathetic. Keep pes, ill stick with the real thing thank you Pes fanboy.

Sorry to quote you again mate. Just been to Parkgate. None on the shelf but listed at £36. Was around 02:30 so took 15 minutes for someone to get one from the back. He scanned it and it came up at £36. I asked if i could have it for £26 and he said he would not price match it. 4 left at Parkgate at £36, but i didnt get one. Lady i was speaking to said she had ordered a price increase as it was a misprice and i maybe i could have got it before midnight at £26.
This wasnt sure if it was 2/3am when the prices increased, so i was going to buy the whole lot if it was £26 so then others on here could buy the other copies at the reduced price.
Looks like South Yorkshire people out of luck with this unfortunately.

holy moly! that dropped fast. I bought for release, £35, good enough price (you can't odd this happening). I received Wednesday before the Friday so got lucky with that, a bit early.
Great game - I think the logic behind the price drop is it released before fifa, and any die -hards would have preordered, now Fifa is coming out they want to be the go-to choice. The game is WORTH IT... have played 25 or so online games so far, enough to get a good feel for it and I am really happy with all aspects so far. I suck at defending crosses though(literally feel like I am spectating, no idea what "input" or chance I have to do anything), I have had that problem in every football game. I am also terrible at scoring them. Crosses/headers, I just have absolutely no intuition at all and it really gets under my skin how bad I am. I am great at everything else, I score most chances, consistently dribble past many players and read the opponents passes to the extent they often get a poor pass completion percentage. I remain above average with around 60% Win ratio online in general!

I played ISS, Winning Eleven and PES over the years until it got rubbish back in the Xbox 360 days, then played FIFA solely until now. I would always get the PES demo and hope for better things but it just never happened. This is the first time I've actually considered buying it. I wouldn't have pre-ordered like I did with FIFA but was very tempted, really enjoyed the demo.

Does PES have anything resembling Pro Clubs on FIFA? In the last couple of years that's pretty much all me and my mates have played so as much as I'd love to go back to PES, I don't think I could do without that mode.
Also there's a lot of nonsense being posted about FIFA versus PES. As far as I'm concerned PES was the undisputed better game until about 2007 (after PES 6) when they lost it completely. FIFA was the first to introduce 360 degree movement and was the better game for a few years. I don't think there's much between them these days, but I am curious to try out PES this year, but to me FIFA is a good enough game not to switch allegiances.

I've been defending Pes for years but there is only so long that you can keep talking about the gameplay on the pitch being all that matters. I couldn't care less about licensed teams to be honest, like everyone said, the edit mode sorts it out anyway but I just want them to make some effort with the presentation. Those menus are just horrible. My perfect game would have everything FIFA right up til kick off, then Pes on the pitch. Not gonna get either this year as I don't thinks the changes in either are enough to warrant a new game every year. Sticking with Pes 2016 til next years offerings, although £26 has tempted me!

Great game this year - definitely improved on last years promise (last year's game was just a proper GK and ref fix away from being great). Anyway, when it comes to sales, PES will never go back to its glory days in the early 2000s. They screwed up in the PS3 era, an era where online play became accessible to millions, and an era where Social Media came into play. Fifa killed it, they will be kings of the football franchise, no matter how boring their game becomes. I just hope Konami keep making PES every year and don't call it a day.

Second this - I'd love to see what 2K Sports could do with the FIFA license. The broadcast presentation of the NBA games in particular is outstanding - it took a good few months of gameplay before I started skipping the preview cut scenes having heard all the dialogue. Although, I would say that because there are fewer teams in the US sports games, there's far more budget and resource available to spend in more worthwhile areas than making sure League Two teams have the correct 3rd-choice goalkeeper kits and reserve team players.

Fantastic price- bought at £42.99 on release day from GAME (eventually had to use my credit) and definitely don't regret that at all.
Probably the best football game ever made, and actually requires a certain degree of tactical nous. The AI is fantastic, really making you work to score a goal and most importantly, the game is FUN.
Compared to FIFA, a lazy copy-and-paste job of previous iterations, where pace is king and the through ball is spam-king, PES is a must buy.
Disappointed by the FIFA demo myself. Game played identical to FIFA 15 (the last FIFA I owned), and saw nothing at all impressive with the new engine. Also, The Journey is just Be-A-Pro in new packaging...where you can't even create your own character. Good job.
PES for me this year- truly exceptional

I still haven't played a PES game that matches the game play of ISS Pro on the Playstation. Maybe rose tinted spectacles but it was just amazing when that came out, the whole ISS series was. Then it went down hill with PES and gave up after PES 5 and jumped ship to Fifa. I did get PES 2015 but still wasn't impressed.
I still have my PS1 and ISS original game but not sure playing on a 50" flat screen it's going to be the same as huddled round an old CRT playing it

PES' golden age was the PS2 days, so the fact you think FIFA was better during part of that gen is funny in itself. FIFA has improved over the last few years, but PES has clawed it's way back and offers a much better game of football IMO. PES will never compete with FIFA on the sales front thanks to those that can't look past a few licenses that can be fixed in a matter of mintues.
Couldn't care less about reviews. Certain outlets have rated the worse PES' 8-9 out of ten.

Care to expand on that? Deluded how? I've played fifa and pes for years. Way back in the day fifa was miles ahead of pes then around fifa 5 they dropped the ball and pes became my footie game of choice but after a couple of bad releases pes was blown out of the water by fifa, not least of all due to actually having real licensed names (shock horror). Now fifa is clearly my game of choice and having played the demo of the journey and read a number of well respected reviews i know it will be a winner again. Do u have anything to back up your small and pointless comment??

Heat at this price, I have it and having played for a few hours am very impressed. The goalkeepers have improved, and there is a noticeable emphasis on changing tactics for long term success. I'll also get FIFA this year, and hopefully the new engine has improved it, however it's started to feel to arcadey and scripted for me and lacks that excitement that PES can bring. Good to have two top football games again though :-)

Would buy at £26 but not making a special trip.
Last few years I had Fifa but playing it a year behind, I.e. I got Fifa 16 a couple of months ago think its alright but very samey. Since the Pes 2017 demo I can't return to Fifa..and was not impressed with Fifa 17 demo.
I did buy Pes 2016 more or less at launch had the basis of a good game but the GK's and the fact it was too easy against CPU spoiled it. Konami seem to have rectified those issues so for me it is a better choice than same old Fifa this year.
I am on XB1 so the kit situation is annoying but obviously you play PES for the gameplay.

Same here mate and last year was the first time I only bought PES and not FIFA. I loved the demo but the actual game feels exactly the same as last year. Very laggy online which kills it for me, that and the fact it has crashed inexplicably at least half a dozen times. There are also glitches in a certain stadium where you can't see your player on the near touchline when you take a free kick. I imported the PES World option files and they are superb I must say. I'm still going to keep it but I'm also going to buy FIFA as I really enjoyed the demo and the Journey offers something a bit different. Shame Newcastle aren't in the Premier league but I could always underperform to get a loan move to the hallowed ground. Bottom line is offline PES is polished but a little samey, online it's atrocious and Konami don't put enough resource in to fix that.

You're in the minority it seems but I might be in that group too. The demo didn't impress me and the graphics looked cartoon-like. I guess when I get around to playing the game today, I'll know for sure. Did you buy it for full price?
I'm coming back to PES after several years of FIFA. Tired of the FIFA experience to be honest, it has some of the most ridiculous ways to lose in a game and you never feel in control. FIFA 15 was pretty good though only because the market was broken and I profited hugely. No matter what Konami does, FIFA will still trump it, it has a huge monopoly and a budget that Konami can only dream of. I'm surprised Konami even funded PES 2017 seeing as though they're going into mobile gaming.

What is it about PES? A few years ago, it was 'uncool' to like it. Now, anyone who prefers FIFA seems to be getting lambasted for enjoying it. Why can't we just be happy that we've got two amazing football games on the market?

I prefer PES to Fifa for the gameplay. Much more realistic pace, tempo and physics (only have to see how many comedy fifa videos there are on YouTube)
Yes Fifa has the Polish, the sky sports tie-ins and official kits/grounds, but it also has the "every shot on target" function and constant amount of Rainbow flicks (it's an ozzie flick) and lollypops.
This year's PES also has the ability to download the full kit and names option file.

You mad bro!? Seriously, this is the greatest football/sports game ever made, it's normal for tesco to allow a new release to drop low not long after release to try entice people into their stores (I know I've worked there long enough!) it's been done with cod and FIFA before.
Konami suck for how they treated kojima but that's a whole other situation, konami put 100% into pes games again for the first time since 2008, FIFA needs competition because it's a copy paste franchise, the FIFA 2017 demo is very very poor imo, and it was a shame as I had high hopes since they decided to try the new engine (frostbite) basically it's mutton dressed as lamb.

Shock horror!
Never been successful with a supermarket deal in the 8 years+ i've been on here.
Must be just my area.
Or you're all lying
Usually amazon price match any deals, but amazon is showing at £36 as well.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Konami-4012927102305-PES-2017-PS4/dp/B01H8XH4PU
So i guess it really was £36 not £26.
I like PES but that's a bit of a low bar for them to clear given it's been pretty crappy online in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if for a lot of people that's still the case.
to program than a basketball game.
Think it's going to be back at £36 everywhere now
Not everyone gets every deal.
Not very happy with Tesco's after the last comment as its people like the people who go on this site that YES we save money but we ALSO spend a lot of our hard earned cash in Tesco's and help partly to keep them in business.
This wasnt sure if it was 2/3am when the prices increased, so i was going to buy the whole lot if it was £26 so then others on here could buy the other copies at the reduced price.
Looks like South Yorkshire people out of luck with this unfortunately.
I remain above average with around 60% Win ratio online in general!
or Glasgow blue or whatever will do til I edit it.
your CLEARLY a MEGA fifa fanboy and that's that,we get it,your one of those people that just can't be told, your FIFA BLIND lol
Keep trying to call Parkgate to get someone to scan it at the till and see if it goes through at £26 but cant get through, just says ring back after 7am now.
But i need to speak to an instore person and not the call centre so they can scan it for me.
I hope that's not the standard in the official release.
Looks mint with the ones created so far. And easier than ever to do.

P.S. Nothing delusional with me. I prefer a realistic game of football.

I would guess this will go down the route of last years iteration and go free to play for MyClub. I think i will hold out for that again.
Never thought i'd say it but I regret buying it.
I believe 2017 is having issues with serious lag online... Konami must be Korean for "Shoot in own foot" or something. Was reading about it on Pesfan.
Yes Fifa has the Polish, the sky sports tie-ins and official kits/grounds, but it also has the "every shot on target" function and constant amount of Rainbow flicks (it's an ozzie flick) and lollypops.
This year's PES also has the ability to download the full kit and names option file.
Great deal - I'm off to tesco now
the physics on the ball in pro EVO just feels like real football. if pro EVO had proper kits etc like fifa does,I don't think fifa would sell a a single copy!
but there's just not telling some folks, fifa fans prob haven't even looked at pro EVO and think they know it all.
I personally try both every year and last year pro EVO was much much better than fifa, fifa hasn't moved gameplay wise for bout 5 years!
I think I will wait it goes below £20 and start with Fifa 17 first...
Hope that helps
