I thought almost everyone had downloaded Mario 1,2,3 NES games onto their 3DS from the Eshop by now. Kids that age tend to find those games too difficult due to the style of gaming at that time and how they play. They are better off with NEW Super Mario Bros titles and Yoshi's Island etc.

give your 7 year old the original Mario on NES, see if he enjoys that.

The cover appears to be the Selects edition.

Surprisingly awful game, I loved the Wii version as well. Heat for price though!

I thought it was awful too, just because of the sheer difficulty of it, and my 6yr old kid used to get very upset with it. Now he is 7 and has been playing this game every day for about a month now. He has been managing to progress and on the odd occasion he has got really, really stuck he has been using youtube walkthrough guides. Is quite a big game and good value for money. Have heard of a lot of people like his cousins playing it for 10 mins then never again. Just needs a chance really, on the face of it seems crap, but get into it and its quite a fantastic game.

Why does it say Standard Edition? Is there a collector's available as well?

Maybe it's not the 'Selects' version as it shows on the website and is in fact the original packaging? Unsure
