For the clever people who don't waste money.
It's amusing watching the iPhone owners eye up my Redmi 3. They are all jealous of the battery life. Yet they'll have no choice but to take whatever Apple gives them with the iPhone 7.
And then they look at the price. Hahahahaha! Sorry, I can't help feeling smug. But hey, if you have more money than sense... good for you (why are you on hotukdeals?!). No hard feelings.
Is the Redmi 3 waterproof? Who cares! At £100 I'll be grabbing the soon to be released Redmi 4. And to think some Apple die hards spend £500 (more?) every year... wow!
Go with the iPhone 7, it was designed in California. Plus, this is not water resistant. :stuck_out_tongue:
And the battery on this is too high.

Just wondering how well the phone does on the daily? I'm looking to get a bavk up phone and since this has a 720 screen and a large battery I'm guessing it lasts well?

Bit confused by the "fake store" comment at the bottom of the description?
Is there a link to trusted store?
Also, would this work with 4g on O2?
Thanks

It should work fine on O2 4G. Supplier says it has 800Ghz band used by O2 and Vodafone in UK.

It's a random seller on Aliexpress, there are some good sellers on there but this one claims to be authorised by Xiaomi when it isn't. Personally I'd never trust a store that lies to me before I've even used them.
Top-One is generally seen as the best seller of Xiaomi stuff on Aliexpress, Hong Kong Goldway are also supposed to be good as is https://www.ibuygou.com/ (who offer a 2 year EU warranty).

i came from the Nexus 5 too.. we use a 5 inch screen, can barely tell the difference if there is any. only thing us that this phone has hardware soft buttons, meaning you get more screen space

anyone recommend some redmi versions. looking to pay in and around £100, there or there abouts anyway.

You'll want a redmi note 4. That'll be 5.5 and is one of the hot recommendations on here. I'd recommend searching for it on here to look at versions (i think there is a pro / prime version with more memory and ram) and prices it's been before.

My gf has the standard redmi 3. I'll be honest and say it's a bit hap hazard GPS wise, both in England and in Australia where she is working.
It's not horrific, but defo worse than say my x play. I'm not sure I'd trust it for map navigation in a car for example.

Good question, was sealed with "CY" tape, and had english as available language. Also didn't require any more messing with the rom, totally happy with it for about 2 months now (coming from note3, and note1 beforehand) have taken pictures about the box and the phone how did it arrived to me if you are interested

I don't have one, sorry. I'll be getting a Redmi 4 though once the Snapdragon version is released (should be soon). I've done a load of reading on the 3 & 3S though as I've been close to ordering multiple times (then as I'm about to do it another Redmi 4 leak happens). Xiaomi can't really be compared to other Chinese rubbish as they are a big brand, they sold over 70mil phones last year which is more than LG & Sony. If you get one you'll need to flash either the official global rom (this may come with it) or my preference is the xiaomi.eu rom. If the phone comes with a vendor/seller rom it'll be buggy, never get updates and possibly virus ridden. Loads of guides about. Top-One seem like a good aliexpress seller as well.

There are other sellers for the "Global version" of this phone, but those versions usually don't have Band 20 4G, which means they won't work properly on 4G with O2 and Vodafone in the UK. This seller actually lists Band 20 in the details for this phone.

Can anyone please recommend a reputable seller that has this model / spec phone (including band 20 support) for a similar price, (say up to +10%) but accepts PayPal as a payment method ? At least with using PayPal if the phone doesn't show up, or goes t*ts up in a month you have a chance of getting your money back.
I have looked at some of the alternative sellers mentioned in the comments, but none of them seem to offer this same spec phone, ( no band 20) or payment via PayPal, I don't mind paying a bit more for some piece of mind.
I seriously doubt that this is genuine as there is no official "global" version on xiaomi website, also nobody else is selling thsese special band 20 versions. I would be very cautious
Edit
Xiaomi also released a special version for note 3 pro which supports band 20 , think it was for Taiwan market . There may be other reasons to be cautious, but it looks legit in terms of LTE bands
