The main thing these things do what people want them for is to illegally obtain pay-to-view channels for free. If you want to watch said channels in glorious 360p or 480p (basically going back 20 years for video quality), and want your 'live sports' to buffer every couple of minutes (i.e stop playing then jump and miss part of something), want constant pixellation and see 'sorry stream could not be found' messages, this is for you.
I gave up on Kodi and the like a few months ago, after spending more time fiddling trying to get a stream to a footie match, than actually watching the footie match.
If you want a awful UI experience, with lots of fannying about and poor picture/sound quality, get one of these boxes. If not, watch MOTD in HD like me :sunglasses:

The other thing you could try is enabling Vertical Blank Sync (both of these settings are on the Output page on video settings). My only concern is that I thought these were both enabled by default, does your screen support 24Hz?

If you have an Android phone/tablet, it's basically the same thing for your TV
Turns your non smart TV in to smart TV
Turns your Smart TV into an even smarter TV
Allows you to install almost any Android app (same as an Android phone/tablet)
Access to streaming services, like Netflix and erm loads of others
Sort of basic gaming machine if you plug in a usb or Bluetooth controller/joypad

Everything you can do on your Android phone or tablet plus whole lot more with the power it has, run apps and games directly on your tv, get a keyboard and appropriate software and you can even use as a PC but the best thing about this is running Kodi which allows you to watch premium TV channels and on demand TV so after a little configuration your able to watch Sky Sports, Cinema /Movies and my favourite Box office so live events such as boxing etc are all free with minimum fuss.
Plenty of forums , knowledge bases and How To's available online including YouTube , by devoting a little time to educate yourself , your entertainment and viewing experience will never be the same !

Bought two of these recently from Gearbest for just below £30 each, so this is a great price. The boxes themselves are very small compared to a lot of other available Android boxes. I have found the Android Marshmallow operating system to run quite smoothly on these boxes, with no crashes or freezes. Kodi also runs fine on them. Apparently these boxes were the best selling Android box on Amazon UK in the month of July, and get great reviews around the web.
I think Kodi is still a little flaky in this respect. It is great for playing pre-burnt/downloaded movies but I've yet to find a single plugin which which has an extensive library, streams seamlessly, on-demand, and is around 6+ months later, hence why millions are paying subscriptions for netflix etc.
great deal for the spec though, voting HOT

Love these android boxes have 2 of them here right now , one with a built in DVB sat tuner that i have tuned to 19 east for the free F1 feed on rtl and then switched back to freesat @ 28.2east, on the same box i have Amazon Prime Video, BBC Iplayer plus a few other on demand players but they are seldom used as my humax freeview box has them also and it has a better search function.
This deal on offer is pretty good especially for a box with that amount of memory and with the latest 905x chipset that is designed for android 6, but if it is for gaming then i think the older 905 chipset and android 5.1 is quicker.

yes there are some issues and it does require some compromise and perseverance on the other hand it is free. it's a trade off, agree live streaming games is awfully, that's because of the sources itself. I usually opt for watching a stream in foreign language in low definition instead, EPL is an issue but other sports: F1, Moto GP, NFL work alright... movies do work fine in full Def when it is available. all in all the source quality is the main issue, find a good source and all works well. the box/programming itself is not he issue, hence this is a good product at a fair price offering a great array of entertainment for free.

been running xbmc/kodi for over 3 years and can honestly say if you take your time to learn how to use it you can watch all the HD content you want with no problems. All people have to remember is most of the time (not always) if a film you want to watch isn't on blu ray yet then it's likely to be a camera copy on kodi. having said that my daughter loves the cam of secret lives of pets, very watchable so it's not always a problem

9 Sep 161#47
Yeah the most over rated app ever Kodi, terribly flakey if you have a romantic idea these boxes are a one stop shop for streaming all the latest movies etc whenever you want without a hitch you will be sadly mistaken. Most builds are paid for now and the free ones are pretty rubbish. So regardless of how good the hardware is the software is terrible.
Oh by the way i have 2 x fire sticks and kodi launches from the main app menu now and its dead easy to send the apk to the stick via your android phone..And fire stick has all the catch up apps now so is rather good.

Regarding live sports, I agree that it is a pain to find a good stream, but what's important to consider is the trade off in price.
I have Virgin, but to upgrade my package to Sky Sports and BT Sports now as well, would cost a small fortune over the year.
These companies have ruined the beautiful game for me and I have no qualms about accessing live footy through other means. For Kodi, install Plexus and Acestream engine and you get most big games in full HD, without too much hassle.

There are add-ons that you can get with a paid subscription, that provide faultless full HD and 4K streams of sports from around the world.
I've watched Premier League football, baseball, NFL, college football, Nascar, UFC without any issue in the last few weeks.
With Premier League, MLB & NFL you can generally take your pick of the games as they are all broadcast live, so not a case of it just being a stream of whatever Sky or BT are showing.
As for movies & TV - I generally use Exodus. Tends to be up-to-date, although sometimes they list films that haven't been released yet, so you won't get any form of stream for a while.
Have been able to go back through the years and pick a film to watch without any issue, including some really obscure stuff e.g. Raiders of the Lost Shark (don't bother!).

i have the 1GB\8GB version of this and it works fine on my Sky 5Mb broadband although that is just me using it. I get the very occasional stuttering stream but I find that if I pause the stream and leave it buffering for a couple of mins before continuing that resolves it.

I'm known as being critical of Kodi here. One member made a video and showed me the latest Paradox build, which I've now used extensively and I can't disagree that Kodi is definitely flaky and unreliable. I would only use Kodi for streaming films and TV shows, for live TV Mobdro completely wastes it. Also for people who have Paradox Kodi build installed 0826 allows you to sideload .apks from a list in the Paradox menu, so it's easy to install more reliable TV streaming apps such as Mobdro.
Kodi is still a relative exercise in frustration but that's massively offset by the fact it's free. You get what you pay for.

Any Bluetooth one will work but I use this one, comes with a USB dongle. Cheap, range is good and really extends the usability of the box itself.
I have one of these, i also have a firestick.
This is far better for KODI, i wanted one that was both WiFi and cable capable.
I have it in a summer house 100 foot up the garden and didn't want to throttle an extended WIFI. so i've ran a cable to it. Firestick cannot do this.
That said, the menu navigating on the Firestick is slow compared to this.
Also bluetooth kills the batteries in firesticks more often than you will like. actually an annoying short span.
For £25 it is a great deal.

I have been streaming Premier League football in full HD on Kodi - running on a Raspberry Pi3 (and before that a Pi2) - for years without a single issue.

I had a box like this that cost twice as much and it didn't even last a year. Even when it worked it wasn't very responsive. If you've got an Android phone or tablet, it's much better to just use that and either plug it in or use Chromecast to get it onto your telly.
I've bought a couple of these Android powered MEdia players (there are many different types all based on the same chipset and software image) and the only thing I don't like about them is the Remote Control has no direct Play/Pause button for use in Kodi - however this doesn't really stop it being function as the OK button just handles everything -it's just not entirely intuitive.

I recently bought the T95M box half price (£24) on one of amazons deal of the day but this box seems much better specced having 2gb mem, card slot, & android6.
It was bought to replace a firestick as my wireless connection is virtually non existant & these box's can connect direct via ethernet cable.
However, my main use is to stream downloaded movies/tv from pc via Plex which doesn't seem to like these units - shows me video library but gives error when trying to play? - The NowTv box still plays via Plex flawlessly so might have to get a few more of them instead.
Im another one who cant see any advantage in using Kodi, its menu seems all over the place & all the available material, barring live sports feeds, is more easily obtainable via torrent links ready for Plexing.

A lot of stupid, misinformed comments on here. Especially this one saying how poor Kodi is..
I've watched every Premiership game of my choice so far this season, in 720p quality with English commentary and no buffer or quality issues. Just because you're using duff add ons, don't put people off by claiming that's all that's out there when that's far from the truth.

I have an ms8 box which seems a similar spec to this. Cost about £35 from the uk (ordered one from China but it never turned up, ebay refunded quickly). You have to be realistic about expectations - expecting 1080p through wifi is asking too much, but plug in the ethernet cable with a fibre connection and 1080p and there's no blocking, no jerking on fast moving pictures, and just high picture quality. I use kodi (no probs at all) and mainly Salts (ditto). But it's sometimes a little time consuming finding a working hd feed for what you want to watch (strangely easier for new films than old ones i've found). Certainly more hassle often than a paid for service. Not sure whether my remote tiny keyboard thing is working properly, but it takes seconds to respond to commands from it, and so navigation is frustrating and difficult. Is my keyboard duff/anyone else have this problem or does everyone get instant response?
Amazing what stuff you can find while browsing around with the kodi add ons - I'm watching bob ross painting, probably every painting he ever did is avaliable, just as an example of the stuff you can watch.

Well i run kodi with pulse build and (it lets me know when which stream is down and new updates are out etc )and HAS all netflix shows in 720/1080p
Probably best to let them believe what they believe - as the market gets saturated with these then attention will surely turn to blocking services. BT as well as other providers are already blocking not only the sites that host a lot of the content that the plug-ins stream from but are also blocking sites that host some of the more popular Kodi Builds.
So personally, although not exactly in the spirit of sharing, the people spouting misinformation are doing us a service
Adjust Display Refresh Rate not yet working in the firmware, Kodi or SPMC.
So don't expect perfection out of the box as it may take time for manufacturers to resolve some of the issues.

You must have such great eyesight to feel that the quality on these boxes running kodi is so bad.
I've tried many Android boxes running kodi & have to say if you have a decent broadband signal then these boxes are the best thing since sliced bread for movies,TV boxsets, concerts etc,but I do agree live sports can be disappointing.

You can't compare using free addons to paying for a service though.
I use Ruya on Kodi for all live tv and sports (3pm kick offs, UFC etc) and it's worked flawlessly in HD for a long time. Exodus works fine for movies/tv shows but I also have a plex sub for ease of use.
Where people go wrong is installing pre-built builds that have loads of crap addons that will never be used and slow down Kodi, especially when the addons auto update. Manually install a few reliable addons yourself and you'll have a much better experience.

I agree that the streams are poor on a kodi box and not very user friendly. There are other solutions to watching tv. Open box systems work via satellite signals, basically freesat. You could illegally stream a decoding program to the box to allow you to watch the pay for channels. This is a solution some expats use in other countries to get english tv. Personally I have a sky subscription and negotiate a deal that I consider fair. The sky system is the easiest to use and the most reliable in my experience of all the systems mentioned.

9 Sep 161#194
That is not that fault of Kodi at all.
This is why they wanted to rebrand and avoid being associated as a "pirate box". Of course the plugins are going to be sketchy, you're streaming from illegitimate sources for free, what do you expect?
gadger100
9 Sep 16#195
Nope.
MrHot
9 Sep 161#196
Jesus, this is not Kodi's fault. They do not supply or look after the plugins, the plugins you are talking about are mostly from sketchy sources which are likely to be oversubscribed, of course they're **** and fail.
MrHot
9 Sep 161#197
Sky GO requires silverlight iirc, so will only work on a windows bases kodi install.
Not that they care anyway, Netflix and the like want to control their sources so you're only going to find them on licences boxes (and android for some of them via their own app).
Amazon Prime streaming can be done natively through Kodi, but the plugin is still not official.
Any "lack of support" is not the problem of Kodi, it's the service restricting their use.
yes there are some issues and it does require some compromise and perseverance on the other hand it is free. it's a trade off, agree live streaming games is awfully, that's because of the sources itself.
If you are looking for good streams for sports and have good broadband, then try sports mania 1 month £12 or pay for 3 or 6 months. 1 yr subs is only £50 and all streams are superb and in HD. for entertainment you could try Ultimate mania. I know it costs money but that is less than £1 a week. You can even try it for 1 day for £4 if you want to see what it is like or £6 for a week.

Yes that, or use the Android ONLY bit to install Movie App's Box, and/or Movie/TV/Sport App's like Mobdro on it too/instead?, which traditionally output at 720p/1080p a piece? (but more importantly, they all work flawlessly too!), so .....
Beyond KODI, they are other notable/well known Android only options out there? (that do a similar/better job to that of what KODI does well also?), be it in fluidity of the App's actual install (similar to how that of how your already familiar via how your Android Phone install's anyway?), and/or actual usability and the like? (via the actual straightforwardness of the actual App's when it's now opened up to be now used, etc?), lol.
Personally speaking, I like BOTH!, but that's just me ..... :-)
I've installed both on a LINX 10 Windows Tablet (I got via one HUKD Deal here some months back here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/linx-10-light-49-sainsburys-instore-2374372), Android on Windows via BlueStacks, and KODI via the relevant Windows version of KODI via KODI's Web Site .. and all seem to work flawlessly via a 'non-native' Platform (so to speak?), so for you to have 'issues' via an actual 'native' Platform?, then .....
Try the Android only option I mentioned before or something?, you may perhaps end up rather preferring that option instead, etc?. :-)

Couldn't agree more, the people bashing Kodi on here haven't got a clue what the are talking about, I have been using it from its days of the very first Xbox and it's a wonderful program that people give up there time for free to develop. It wasn't designed as a platform for addons to access illegal streams it was designed for organising your own media and eventually evolved to include things like PVR functionality. Regarding the box, I would go for this over a firestick all day long as relying on wifi only is a big no no for me, also the chipset will support full frame packed 3D with the MVC build of Kodi found in the official Kodi forum.
amour3k
9 Sep 16#204
From past review's of the 2 different Chipset's I've read of these via some earlier HUKD Threads is this, the S905X 'outputs' at 4K x 2, 60fps, whereas the S912 'outputs' at 4K x 2, and only 30fps!, so ..... (but I could be wrong?, as I've never owned either!, to then go about exploring either of the 2 options, etc?, I MAY however, end up going for this ..... lol).
My previously above mentioned lowdown on the S905X/S912 criteria, may/may not be of a notable concern for you?.
See what you yourself think ..... :-)

Or, just use usenet to download all your films & tv to a server made from any old pc , set up automated programs to download your favourite TV shows & films (Sickbeard & couchpotato for example) & a mysql server to sync your database & chuck a load of these round the house.
Pay £7 a month for a premium streaming service for your sport.
Then you can watch any film or tv in full HD (not 720p like sky) & watch any live sport in HD with no buffering too. Including epg Saturday kick offs & ppv. You can also stop watching in one room & continue from the same place in another, just like that fancy sky q, only I don't pay £100 a month & I've been doing it for the last five years.
As for the UI, change it to any skin you like, & customise whatever you want. That's the beauty of it.
There's a learning curve to all of it, obv, but the £50 a month (minimum it's probably way more) saving on sky or virgin, netflix amazon etc is more than worth it.
This box is great spec for the price. Have some heat.

10 Sep 16#288
Which services? I've always though this is a better way, but price will never really compete with services that do **** practices like device licencing etc.
Android 5.1 rather than 6.0, S905 rather than S905X, 1GB DDR3 rather than 2GB DDR3, 8GB EMMC rather than 16GB EMMC... so no, not the same at all. That is the same mistake everyone who said these are cheaper on eBay was making, finding the same 'model' (A95X) and assuming it was the same spec, there are various configurations of the A95X and this deal was for a better one than the 'cheaper' eBay items.

If people are using these to watch pay tv services illegally, is there anything those companies can do? Block services or trace the stream back to you?
kjsav123
10 Sep 16#293
You'll find lots of debate about the legalities of streaming as opposed to downloading.
The majority would seem to indicate streaming movies is not going to get an individual into bother - just as long as you're not the one providing the source and others are streaming from you - if you get what I mean.
Streaming live TV from subscription services however isn't quite as clear. Can they spit you as an individual are watching their content? Quite probably unless your savvy (Google VPN service) - will they come after you? Doubtful - unless you're a Pub and showing to customers - again they are more likely to chase the supplier.
In the UK several "businesses" who have been selling these devices marketed as giving access to those services have had the full weight of the law fall upon them - seizing stock, legal action taken against them etc. Usually those arrests come as a result of that HUGE satellite broadcasting company making their own enquiries and getting the prosecutions.
So don't ever get one of these and play dumb - no one HAS been prosecuted for using one doesn't mean no one WILL. And playing rhe ignorance card never ever cuts it.
These devices - and Kodi itself are legitimate devices and software for legitimate purposes. It's third party add-ons that have been built to run within Kodi that give access to the stuff that you would usually expect to pay for.
And don't be fooled into.thu king that paying a subscription to one of the services mentioned lots of times in this thread for "guaranteed no bigger perfect viewing" will side step any possible collar feeling by the local constabulary. May personal view is if you're paying a subscription to someone then you're actively involved in potential bigger fraud...... They aren't licenced to provide that content! (Of course I'm not referring to Netflix /Amazon Prime /Now Tv etc).

louiselouise
10 Sep 161#304
It does! My thread was nuked (didn't realise there was a seller requirement on HUKD) but I did comment there earlier.
It's still daytime so can't see how well it lights up in the dark, but it's bright white, instead of the blue-ish hue some pictures suggest.
The battery still had some power, so it worked straight out the box (charged it up a bit for good measure anyway). It has a MicroUSB connector at the back.
Edit: Something interesting I've just noticed about these touchpad/keyboards - when you have a stream playing the "space bar" pauses/plays the stream. I remember someone bemoaned the lack of a pause/play function. There's also a pause/play button in the middle of the top-left circular pad (along with rewind/fast forward, Volume + and -).

HarpoonJoe
11 Sep 16#307
Maybe so, but that doesn't change the fact that it is not illegal to consume an illegally copied or illegally distributed media, not according to UK copyright laws anyway. As to these illegal Kodi streams, the ones breaking the law are the ones responsible in copying and distributing. For instance it's perfectly legal for you to own a fake pair of Oakley sunglasses even if you know they're fakes. Setting up a factory to make them or selling (or even giving them away) could land you in serious trouble. If you're morally ok with these Kodi streams then you've got nothing to lose.

Thanks for response and recommendation just prefer buying from uk just seems strange no Bluetooth on amazon one.
I can get the one described @ amazon for £41.39 is that good price or should I look elsewhere
nige182
11 Sep 16#318
Didn't notice the no Bluetooth, doubt it would be absent though, most Android boxes use a combined Wifi/Bluetooth chipset to save space and cost anyway. I think if it is UK stock, that price sounds alright. I am guessing that was Flubit on the Amazon price. Generally I would probably expect a reasonable cheap box to be around the £40 mark for UK stock (unless you are lucky and Gearbest have EU stock of a good box, which is usually pretty quick for delivery anyway).

Sorry, had seen quite a few similar posts in one day where the answer was already right in front of them, and was a bit fed up, the answer was literally the last post in the thread when their question was posted. They then reposted the question an hour later, so to me it looked like they had no response, so one hour later chased up a response by asking again when the answer was already there, one post above their own, not even several pages earlier or hidden in some way.

Mine arrived yesterday, ordered very late, dispatched on the 14th. It came via recorded delivery, so I assume it was sent China>UK then recorded to me, else it wouldnt had taken almost 10 days to arrive! Still happy with the delivery time though as I expected China delivery and that does usually take well over 2 weeks.
The box works pretty good, pretty quick and everything works as expected. I've not tested DTS passthrough yet but my understanding is that it doesnt work properly via the Kodi App. LibreElec is getting good support and I've already booted to that, so I'll probably just flash that onto the NAND and dump Android.
I dont personally use any of the streaming Addons for Kodi but this box does have most of them pre-installed, plus some other apps like Mobdro.

Got the box yesterday, nice little box and quite fast, but one small problem:
DTS passthrough plays with slight audio hiccups every few seconds. Seems to be a common problem with these boxes - Dolby plays fine though.
*Update - fixed that problem, change 5.1 to 2.1 in audio settings and DTS works smoothly. It's some bug
*Update 2 - was wrong. Still doing hiccups on dts

Turns your non smart TV in to smart TV
Turns your Smart TV into an even smarter TV
Allows you to install almost any Android app (same as an Android phone/tablet)
Access to streaming services, like Netflix and erm loads of others
Sort of basic gaming machine if you plug in a usb or Bluetooth controller/joypad
Lots of videos etc on YouTube if you need more detailed information.

Plenty of forums , knowledge bases and How To's available online including YouTube , by devoting a little time to educate yourself , your entertainment and viewing experience will never be the same !
Is it going to support all Kodi plugins, including streaming/sopcast and Rom Collection Browser working with emus?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/NPET-A95X-Amlogic-S905X-Android/dp/B01K1KCAOM/
Do yourself a favour and buy a wireless keyboard with touch pad with it as navigating Netflix, itv hub and I player a pain without.
Here is a decent review on them. http://troypoint.com/nexbox-a95x-review/
great deal for the spec though, voting HOT
I jest will probably buy this as 2nd box!
the 2 boxes I have had are a real pain. ..having to have remote within six feet, pointed at exact right angle. ...and then still hit n miss.
Otherwise great boxes.
This deal on offer is pretty good especially for a box with that amount of memory and with the latest 905x chipset that is designed for android 6, but if it is for gaming then i think the older 905 chipset and android 5.1 is quicker.
Oh by the way i have 2 x fire sticks and kodi launches from the main app menu now and its dead easy to send the apk to the stick via your android phone..And fire stick has all the catch up apps now so is rather good.
This chap posts a lot of content about all things kodi on YouTube, might be worth a visit to some people. Youtube channel ASBYT.
Not affiliated with the above in any way shape or form, not even a user, I prefer to pay sky so I know it just works
also i find VLC player to play stuff from my network. quicker than kodi.
both ES File Explorer and VLC are official apps from Amazon store and free.
If you have a houseful of connected devices (also known as 'family' ) it may be more of an issue, though, especially for HD streams.
thanks
Sadly, I had made the mistake of buying from Gearbest. I might have well just flushed my money down the toilet.
Would really strongly recommend buying one of these too though
http://www.gearbest.com/mice-keyboards/pp_179267.html
It has transformed using the box for me, having a keyboard and an air mouse makes it so much easier to use things like YouTube (any thing when you want to type a search term etc.)
time to google!
The cheapest 2GB/16GB one I can see is around £35, also from China.
Kodi is still a relative exercise in frustration but that's massively offset by the fact it's free. You get what you pay for.
http://www.gearbest.com/mice-keyboards/pp_179267.html
This is far better for KODI, i wanted one that was both WiFi and cable capable.
I have it in a summer house 100 foot up the garden and didn't want to throttle an extended WIFI. so i've ran a cable to it. Firestick cannot do this.
That said, the menu navigating on the Firestick is slow compared to this.
Also bluetooth kills the batteries in firesticks more often than you will like. actually an annoying short span.
For £25 it is a great deal.
Found previously that they're rubbish and require an exact angle to get any kind of movement.
I have been streaming Premier League football in full HD on Kodi - running on a Raspberry Pi3 (and before that a Pi2) - for years without a single issue.
Any flakiness/pixellation will be down to the quality of the stream - nothing at all to do with Kodi
Just received the Nexbox a1 this morning to review, that's running the latest s912 chip
As for remotes, had a bit of bother buying one for myself, one that turned up didn't work at all, one went AWOL from China (and the seller tried to get out of refunding me!).
Hopefully this one will turn up soon, it's a newer backlit version - seller accepted £9 Best Offer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131922613395
Search TopTutorials on YouTube for great videos.
Started using the Real-Debrid service recently too, found it very impressive. 1080p 5.1 streams always available. 16 euros (around £13) for 6 months so cant moan about that.
Anyone else using Real-Debrid?
Also can I access iPlayer with subtitles through it (my current Freesat box is loosing iPlayer subtitle support)?
These things probably perform better but the firestick is tiny and comes with a remote so that sold it for me really..
http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/08/05/nexbox-a95x-amlogic-s905x-tv-box-review-part-2-android-6-0-and-kodi-16-1/
Edit: There are some site-wide coupons from their Anniversary Sale but they don't work with this item.
Looks like someone beat me to it
Recommended for Techies - Yes
Recommended for your retired mum and dad - No
It was bought to replace a firestick as my wireless connection is virtually non existant & these box's can connect direct via ethernet cable.
Still voting Hot though :sunglasses:
My issue is that I would like to use it with a computer monitor which does not have a remote. So I would like to turn on and off the device with the remote (which is impossible with my current raspberry pi running kodi)
I've watched every Premiership game of my choice so far this season, in 720p quality with English commentary and no buffer or quality issues. Just because you're using duff add ons, don't put people off by claiming that's all that's out there when that's far from the truth.
Amazing what stuff you can find while browsing around with the kodi add ons - I'm watching bob ross painting, probably every painting he ever did is avaliable, just as an example of the stuff you can watch.

I've tried many Android boxes running kodi & have to say if you have a decent broadband signal then these boxes are the best thing since sliced bread for movies,TV boxsets, concerts etc,but I do agree live sports can be disappointing.
I don't measure my **** on inches, but more on performance.
Does anyone know what will be the import duty for ordering this box? Thanks
Thanks OP

thanks for the heads up op...
Made it into a Deal, will receive it tomorrow so will update. The Chinese one I bought I'll give to my niece (when it appears!).
Heat for the box ordered one for another room
(Yeah I know the Nvidia shield has HDMI--CEC but that''s in a slightly different price bracket...)
Cheers for the post, I was impressed with my £5 sideloaded Firestick for my flatmates, I had to get something for my own room.
Have you used Banggood before? wondering if the lead times are to be trusted?!
Sounds like a bargain, Want this, as its so much hassle to try and install Play Store on the FireTv 2
Same software on a Beelink Mini MXIII runs like faeces off a shovel
So ordered one to play with, thanks OP
PS anybody still running kodi on top of android u want your head looking at :stuck_out_tongue:
PPS this supports DVB sticks too so anybody still using openbox needs help too

Android boxes are great for certain things
TV is not one of them
But luckily these boxes are so much more than KODI...
KODI is great if you have nothing to do with your life other than tinker about and brag about how many channels of entertainment you have on your Android TV Stick/Box etc. It's always best to avoid talking about the constant buffering and lack of sources....
does anyone know if with these boxes it is possible to watch (either for free or by paying a subscription fee) the Italian Serie A (football), please?
Kodi is an excellent media player platform and works well like that. It's depressing to read people here blaming Kodi for the problems they encounter using piracy add-ons.
The movies and tv programs are fine, yes the free illegal football streams can be a pain but If you know where to look they are more then fine but not 1080p 4k standard...
The answer is called libreelec:man:
This is why they wanted to rebrand and avoid being associated as a "pirate box". Of course the plugins are going to be sketchy, you're streaming from illegitimate sources for free, what do you expect?
Not that they care anyway, Netflix and the like want to control their sources so you're only going to find them on licences boxes (and android for some of them via their own app).
Amazon Prime streaming can be done natively through Kodi, but the plugin is still not official.
Any "lack of support" is not the problem of Kodi, it's the service restricting their use.
You can run Libreelec on the S905X but please read, because it is not necessarily straightforward.
https://forum.libreelec.tv/forum-38.html
Thanks
If you are looking for good streams for sports and have good broadband, then try sports mania 1 month £12 or pay for 3 or 6 months. 1 yr subs is only £50 and all streams are superb and in HD. for entertainment you could try Ultimate mania. I know it costs money but that is less than £1 a week. You can even try it for 1 day for £4 if you want to see what it is like or £6 for a week.

if i wanted/could pay i would get something else.

It went through the app at the sale cost. try via that
also quid tracked at £1.44!

Someone posted it above and for a fiver thought it'll work.
how does this box compare to Amazon fire tv 4k?
Sick of watching Netflix with TiVO box (in fact using laptop plugged in to TV now).
I was thinking of getting a Fire Stick, but looks like this box will do the job cheaper.
Thanks OP
search "husham wizard" in your web browser, the latest version is "The Husham 0.9.5" and follow the instructions carefully on the page.
Luckily I got it with the 2.4G Mini Wireless Keyboard with insurance for £30.47
been thinking one of these for ages. Just bought one to try.

And is this still best for money @ just over £40.00
if yes can they mention the name of the app.
don't want too many remotes...

If you are in no hurry I would wait, I have no doubt another deal similar to this one will appear, a good deal on Android boxes seems to appear every few weeks.
I can get the one described @ amazon for £41.39 is that good price or should I look elsewhere
"Expected Restock on 16th September", then 7-20 business days to deliver to UK. Will probably be 3 weeks before we get them.
Back orders say a dispatch date of 16/09/16. However, orders that have not yet been placed on the site say 22/09/16.
The item tv box in your order is out of stock at the moment. It may restock around 2016/9/25.
Usually it will cost 7-20 days to get to your country
Used the 7 day shipping method.
Came with no Chinese packaging just parcel force something as i had to sign. No signs it came from outside the UK.
I defo remember no international labels.
***Strange because product shows as "in-stock" on their website***
so I guess its still out of stock
I wonder if they ran out of stock.
Dear Mike,
Thanks for your email.
For your order ********, I'm sorry to tell you that this item 1067181 is out of stock now. And it will be restocked around 8-10 days.Would you mind waiting for it?
Best wishes.

Mine still hasn't been despatched. Boo.
Re those backlit touchpad/keyboard thingies, got the ebay one for my niece yesterday - this has a green backlight instead of the white from my Amazon one. Some sellers imply in photos they come in different colours.
Thank you very much for your custom with Banggood.com.
1 item(s) in your order is/are out of stock at the moment.
Item 1: [1067181]Nexbox A95X Amlogic S905X 2G DDR3 RAM 16G eMMC ROM Android 6.0 2.4G+5.0G Dual Band WiFi 4K 60fps Kodi 16.1 Bluetooth 4.0 HDR VP9 H.265 HEVC Android TV Box Mini
Predicted Restocked Date: 2016-10-02 00:00:00
Absolutely flawless on wi-fi. Literally, Plug&Play.
The remote control is impressive - it's a learning remotes, and can learn some basic controls of your TV remote, too!
Took about five minutes of setting up, and Android looks great on a big screen. Really impressed
The box works pretty good, pretty quick and everything works as expected. I've not tested DTS passthrough yet but my understanding is that it doesnt work properly via the Kodi App. LibreElec is getting good support and I've already booted to that, so I'll probably just flash that onto the NAND and dump Android.
I dont personally use any of the streaming Addons for Kodi but this box does have most of them pre-installed, plus some other apps like Mobdro.
i had no luck with chrome, MSE and IE.....
then ordered this on gearbest on 23rd night. had a chat with cs on 24th morning requesting to expedite the order and they said they did it.
and now received dispatch email.
very good system on gearbest..... it's time to cancel my banggood order....

I am checking for you now, could you please wait for a moment?

the order is processing in our warehouse
it will be shipped out within 1 to 3 days

DTS passthrough plays with slight audio hiccups every few seconds. Seems to be a common problem with these boxes - Dolby plays fine though.
*Update - fixed that problem, change 5.1 to 2.1 in audio settings and DTS works smoothly. It's some bug
*Update 2 - was wrong. Still doing hiccups on dts
That has been followed up today that it takes 1-2 days to process orders.
Won't be going anywhere near this company again!
Never had a problem with gearbest
