I'm not very knowledgeable around these machines but how much are the 150 capsules and how does this compare to a Tassimo.... which is better for this rough price range?

Capsules are around 31p each, so about £46.50 for 150 capsules.

Tassimo tastes like pi$$. Nespresso tastes like coffee. So does Lavazza.

What I would like to know, is what is a 'Grand Cru' capsule?
I'd like to take up the deal, but can only drink decaffeinated coffee - pointless to some people, I know, but I like the taste.
I don't want to have to order 150 capsules of decaff coffee, then it not be the right capsules or whatever.

The term "Grand Cru" is also used by Nespresso to refer to the flavours of its coffee capsules. The Trappist brewery Chimay makes a Grand Cru cheese.
if you live in london it is possible to buy from a few nespresso retail outlets, they may or may not be local for you. they also have few outlets around UK but not as many as in london. i bought 70 capsules for £22.50 from the westfield outlet

Oddly the model with 3 year warranty at currys is different to the JL one

There are many compatible capsules around, pretty much every supermarket is selling either 3rd party or own branded.
Prices vary between £0.28 to £0.31 in packs of 10.

Lidl and Home Bargains sell compatibles which taste pretty good IMO

Pretty sure Nespresso give you a 3 year warranty so it doesn't matter whether you buy from JL, Currys, Amazon etc.

I've tried them all, except the new brazillian ltd edition, and absolutely hands down find the arpeggio the best!

So I really wanted a bean to cup machine, was looking at Amazon warehouse uk or Germany and could probably get a semi decent (by reviews) one for £200-£250 but in John Lewis yesterday and the nespresso guy made me one, it was ok not strong enough for me said it was a 6, not sure what to do, this would be a lot less faff than with beans

Just bought this from John Lewis 2 weeks ago for £64, anyone know if they'd price match?

Why should they? It wasn't this price 2 weeks ago. Different day, different deal. Besides, for a fiver, is it really worth it? :-)

I had bean to cup machine, one of the best on the market - Jura Impressa. After 1.5 years I sold it as we preferred coffee from Bialetti stovetop coffee maker. It's better, stronger and we're using less beans - apparently bean to coffee machine is wasting a lot of beans.
Unfortunately it's not a good solution for office.Nespresso machines appears to be much better. Makes stronger coffee and needs just fraction of space. Recently bought another one for home, as we prefer big cups so we're using 6-cup Bialetti for two, which makes bit tricky to make just one coffee.
Pixie is a very good alternative. Makes coffee fast, nothing to clean, there is no need for time consuming cleaning process every 3-4 weeks we had to perform with bean to cup machine.

Is there any advantage over a machine that takes beans or ground coffee?

Amazon has price matched. Although don't think it comes with the offer to get the aeroccino.

Posted a few times in past month or so. Previous threads below for further reference and discussions:
Not a lot ! Same Aeroccino offer and same price. Both machines are probably made on same production line. The spout where the coffee comes out is slightly different on the Krups and the Magimix versions. Patterns are slightly different on the side panels too. One says Krups next to the switches - the other says Magimix......
Same 3 year guarantee - just buy whichever is in stock

Indeed. and I'd recommend the Arpeggio decaf. Can't actually tell the difference.

Had a sample of Rosabaya de Colombia in JL yesterday. Really disappointed. Thought the coffee was really thin tasting and lacking in flavour.

Ended up buying this from Amazon.
For some reason I had a £5 promotional credit for using the app to make the purchase, on top of the 5% NUS discount, it was only £51.05.
Nespresso website states 2 year warranty for Pixie machines. I got the Magimix in Aluminium. Look forward to having some proper-ish coffee again!
Cheers to the OP!
Should be £114.05 for the Machine, the Aeroccino and 200 capsules.
Sounds like a good deal to me, especially as a trip to Costa normally costs about £10.

Looks like a great find for a Nespresso machine.
Personally I prefer the traditional pump machines which as well as ground coffee take ESE pods (like tea bags but with coffee). Plenty of choice, much cheaper and some great tasting coffee There is less landfill waste because the bag goes in the food waste bin like tea bags. Having seen our bins at work just full of these little Nespresso type pods makes me cringe a bit.

Ordered the 150 pods to get the Aeroccino yesterday. I assume they'll all arrive together, so £105 all in for 166 coffees.
Tried the Decaffeinato Arpeggio yesterday evening and slept absolutely fine, so am happy to say that it's all good
