Hot although not for me as I've been waiting over a couple of years for Android pay on my S5 and now it's here I don't want to loose it (I don't use it all the time, but just for emergencies such as when my wife asks me to pick something up after I've finished at the gym or out for a walk thinking I did not need my debit card).

I've got this phone it is really great I find it so much better than the iPhone that I'd moved on from. this deal is a good price but I got it for £130 not long ago from John Lewis and with a 2 year guarantee, it's around £160 there now though. happy to answer any questions anybody may have

How much RAM and storage? Is it on Marshmallow?
JonnyP72 to OB1
18 Sep 161#13
RAM is showing as 1.8gb, storage is 16gb, 10.82gb is available as internal storage, 5.18gb is used for android. Currently on Marshmallow 6.0.1.
I got one for the wife at £160 from John Lewis but they refunded £30 when they dropped the price about 2 weeks later, kicking myself that I didn't grab a dual sim myself at that price but thought too long and they went out of stock. Tempted by this AO offer

do not buy this phone, it has an issue called " Ghost touches" which means when plugged in to charge the phone just starts to do things by itself as if some one is touching the screen. I did some research online and it seems as though its a common problem. I sent it back to Amazon for a full refund.

My father in law had the same sort of thing with one of the budget easy to use touch screen phones called a Doogue (or something like that) was strange and took a while to work out it was only when it was plugged in).
My Nan has this phone upgrading from the Moto G3 I think it was. The only thing she doesn't like about it is that it hasn't got a notification light so if she doesn't hear the phone at the time a message etc. comes through so has no indication she has received anything without turning it on to check. She sends me pictures through snapchats and whatsapp and while she probably struggles seeing what she's taking a picture of they usually turn out clear and sharp so I'd say the camera is quite good.

So glad you mentioned the lack of notification light, almost bought one - because the Pepsi P1S I bought last month doesn't have a notification light either and I really miss it. Thank you, you've saved me from ending up with 2 of 'em!!!

Just a shame it can't be used with a VR headset. I love my Moto G 3rd gen but that's one thing that lets it down - not particularly bothered right now, but VR is taking off so it's a consideration when looking at the G4

Picked the single sim version up yesterday for 125 from tesco's after reading the pro's and cons of dual sim and deciding I really didn't need it.
Really liking the phone on first impressions. Only noticeable downside to it so far is the lack of notification light, when my moto E from years ago had one. There's a few apps in the store that apparently fix this but also apparently bombard you with ads. I've yet to try -anybody have any recommendations?
No problems so far with "ghost touch" when it comes to charging... we shall see.
Really good price for this though - cheapest I saw it was £160. Heat.

it was a 5c, obviously by no means the most recent model but I find the range of apps available are so much better for android than they are for apple. other than face time I cant think of anything that I used my iPhone for that I can't do with this phone, and there are plenty of other video calling apps. whilst there is a lot I can do with this phone that I couldn't with iPhone

18 Sep 162#27
the size is quite big there's no doubt about that but you soon get used to it. I find myself typing by holding the phone in both hands and using both thumbs rather than one hand and thumb as I did with iPhone. but the size of the screen is great for gaming and streaming. the camera seems equally good as my iPhone 5c was if not better, obviously the top marks go to Samsung's at the minute but for the price of this phone it can't be beaten in my opinion

Really bad experience with this Retailer, very unreliable for delivery, multiple broken promises. Then exceptionally slow to refund my money, I had to work really hard to get my money back for the cancelled order. So buy at your risk. Look up reviews of this Retailer before doing business with them to judge whether you want to risk the frustration and grief.

"The Moto G4 doesn’t have an LED for notifications — it lights up the whole screen instead. You might not want this happening during the night, or perhaps you don’t want notifications from specific apps showing up for everyone to see. If so, go to the app drawer, open the Moto app, and choose Display, where you’ll find the option to block apps. Then, choose the detail level and schedule times when you’d like to keep the screen dark."
I worried about the size too - I have had mine for a day now and the size is actually great. Camera is very good.

Bought this phone yesterday. Definitely the biggest phone I've ever owned. But I'm already used to the size. Fits in all of my pockets without being awkward and I can type on it without hitting the wrong keys like I normally do on smaller phones. The screen is great for watching videos! Definitely recommend this phone. I will definitely think twice in the future before forking out for more expensive phones

I bought a moto G4 and had this ghost touch problem with more than one charger. Ended up returning it for a refund because there was no clear fix for it> latest firmware update didn't fix it. Pretty hopeless if you can't use a phone whilst it's charging. Impressed with the phone apart from this issue, but the issue was too annoying and many other people have the same problem.

- Can not be removed anymore ??
Thanks

19 Sep 16#64
Your SD Card will become part of your internal storage, and no you cant remove the card because it becomes part of your system.
When a new card is detected it will ask you if you want to use it as storage or internal, if it doesn't then you need to go to, Storage/USB, Select your SD Card, on the next screen select the three dots top right and select Settings, there your get the option to format your card as internal.
Look up marshmallow adoptable storage if you want more info.

Still using it on speakerphone mode as that works fine. It just seems as though the gain when on normal (to the ear) mode isn't high enough and I cannot see a way to increase it without rooting the phone. Hopefully it will be patched ???
