On offer at the moment at mobilephonesdirect.co.uk is the Motorola G4 @ £10 per month. The phone is free and comes with 500 mins unlimited text and 1gb of data I think this is a good deal. It works out about £4.60 per month after the phone is taken out. Great deal I think. And you don't have to pay up front for the phone.
£30 Quidco too!

They use Vodafone. I think they're ok, I've got a talktalk mobile it's the same. No issues here.

Good deal, apart from it being Talkmobile (not Talk Talk) so I won't be voting.

Talkmobile and TalkTalk both piggyback off Vodafone though.

I got this yesterday, I went for the £12.50 option, with cash back comes back down to £10 but you get 1000 mins, 5000 txt and 2gb internet. I thought that was the better option.
Check down the list its there

Did you order from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk and have received your handset?
That's true, but people seem to get them confused a lot

Can I block high paid calls to 0800 and can I capped data, as I wish to buy phone for my little daughter?

0800 are free for mobiles, this is an Ofcom ruling so applies to all networks, not sure about blocking other 08 numbers through talkmobile though.

Talk Mobile do not allow you to cap your data. They will automatically charge you if you go over. Just like their parents Vodafone.

That is a shame - the Vodafone signal around here is absolutely abysmal.

Same here, I went for a talkmobile phone 12 months ago and still have another 12 months of poor signal to put up with. Decent deal, just a bad network service.

Quidco site states that they don't pay out on items in the 'Special Offers' section. Still a pretty decent deal though.

They're pretty dire IMO. I'll be cancelling TalkTalk at the end of my current deal. Only £3.75/m for 2500 mins/2.5gb data/5000 texts.
But after 4 years I'm off. Whatever they offer me to stay

Great deal and was pleased by their customer service but agree the signal was terrible. Shame. If they could sort signal and get 4G it would be a great deal.

Good deal for those who really can't afford the phone upfront, but I think 170 upfront for the phone + a contract of your choosing should be a better deal for most (who want the G4)

Tempted to get this, 2 things hold me back from pressing the trigger
1. Upgrading from a nexus 4 , is it much of an upgrade - Both 2gb of ram. might wait for sailfish.
2. Not sure I want to get a 4 g capable phone on a 3 g contract for 2 years. By that time 5g or whatever will be out and ill prob still be on 3g

Ordered mine last Thursday and the order tracking page said "We are currently awaiting the arrival of your handset" expected "08-09-2016". Never mentioned that it wasn't in stock until after ordering.
Not received any communication from them since last week and order tracking page hasn't changed.
Anyone's order tracking saying anything different? Anyone received theirs?

Who knows... there's a few articles on Google about TalkTalk Mobile (TalkTalk Group brand) switching but nothing about Talk Mobile (Carphone Warehouse brand), the companies demerged a few years back so in theory are independent of each other
D-Day today...been waiting 2 weeks for them (Mobiles Phones Direct) to get the handset in...rage at it's limit

Im looking for a new phone since ive broken my nexus 5. similar specs to nexus 5 and i was completely fine with with it. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to keep the phone and give the sim to a child?. Also this thread is a bit old so if anyone has any recommendations that have come up let me know.

Just got this and it's got some sort of issue with the touch screen where the phone automatically presses areas, scrolls things like the notification. I think this is called ghost touch or something. Anyways gotta find a way to return it now, i'll most like have to pay for postage too :disappointed:
Opening post
£30 Quidco too!
