hahahahaha you have done it again, that hole is getting deeper, and everyone is looking down on you now, hahaha I must have touched a nerve, don't you like getting caught out , don't you like when people call you out and you end up making an idiot of yourself, you also made an idiot of yourself by posting a list of banned merchants, but are the big supermarkets on the banned list, hahaha so you still cant prove what you said, why don't you just leave now because you are showing yourself up, I love people that just cant handle the truth and try their hardest to convince themselves that there right, hahahahahaha

So here is your proof of big companies self promoting on Hotukdeals.
..
By the same token it could be assumed that other companies i.e. Tesco would see the value of reducing popular items in a few select stores to increase their online exposure and ultimately their footfall. Do they pretend to be members then post deals, or do they hope that members of the public who may be members of hotukdeals will post them. Either way, a nice bit of free advertising. This is the last attempt I will make at trying to explain to you this very basic concept. I really do hope that it sinks in this time. I honestly believe that I have made it idiot proof. Time will tell.

Wow, another idiotic and childish comment. This really is playground stuff. I did suspect that you were a minor, now it is fairly obvious that you are. In which case I can understand your inability to grasp what is a very simple and straightforward concept. Learn how to write and people will take you seriously.
Again, my stance is based on years of working in Marketing. You still have failed to tell everyone what you do that gives you such an informed opinion. So what is it then?

Why don't you ask the moderators on this site how often they block accounts and delete deals as they believe them to for self promotion purposes.
Keep it up Simples. You'll get there in the end.

lol you really are making a laughing stock of yourself, what you said was " reasonable to assume big Supermarket chains would do this for a little free advertising" did you forget that, so prove that they do this on hukd, only to stop people laughing at you, if you can prove this I will hold my hands up, if you cant, stop digging the hole that your in even bigger,:smirk:

Dear IQ of 47. I can see you really tried hard that time. Alas, it was wasted on me as I really found it difficult to understand what you had written. I think your spelling and grammar check is broken.
You spout nonsense about events in history being on par with basic consumer marketing strategies. Apples and Oranges my friend. If you really don't get why the big four spend millions on advertising naff washing powder deals and cheap plonk offers on the TV and radio then this is wasted on you. It's really not a difficult concept to grasp. Get people through the door.

I didn't say Tesco were posting deals directly. What I said was it's a nice touch getting some free advertising on this site, and others, by reducing some popular items in a few stores. Hardly anyone ever gets any of these Tesco deals on electrical items, but what does happen is that they get a lot of heat and a lot of views. Hence the free advertising. Now I've been really careful to spell it out in simple words so you can understand. I really can't see any way that it can be very hard to believe. Your comments about Dianna, JFK etc: they are hard to believe and in a totally different league. They are moronic and childish.

Please tell me, I'm dying to know, what are your qualifications within the industry? What job is it that you do that gives you such an unprecedented knowledge of consumer advertising strategies?

I notice that you signed your last post as 'simples'

That's your nick name right?

It all makes perfect sense now.....

you are the one that got upset, otherwise you would not have responded in the way you did, you have done it again, making a fool of yourself, please stop because your just making everyone laugh at you, as for Tesco posting deals on here so people can go into their stores and buy other things instead of the thing they posted, where is your proof, if you cant prove it, then you are the biggest fool on hukd forum, and I have proved my point, simples :stuck_out_tongue:

lol I take it the 47 comment grated a nerve. If it wasn't true then no reason to get upset. Right?!? Just pointing out fella that you really should have a balanced argument before trying to poo poo opinions which you don't share. I have worked in Marketing for many years so can see how any form of advertising can be beneficial to a brand/company. What are you basing your opinion on? As of yet you still haven't explained why you disagree, other than nonsense about Dianna and twin towers.

If you are going to insult someone then, unless you are nine years old, you would probably look a little better if you try really hard and think of your own insults instead of just repeating back what was said to you. You could always ask someone else to help you if you find it a little too difficult.

Just wondering, do you read the Beano, or Dandy?

please stop making a fool of yourself, it is YOU that has a " childish conspiracy theory " and you have just proved to everyone that you have an IQ well below 47 with your theory, maybe you should go back to school or study a bit harder rather than staying on this forum all day everyday, remember there was more than one shooter
Freddy5150
15 Sep 16 #83
IQ of 47. You have already bored us with your childish reference to conspiracy theory before on this thread without any balanced discussion on why you believe this not to be the case.
By the way, the letter e is between the w and the r on the keyboard. Maybe you should get yourself a new keyboard from Tesco.

Weird that it's a guaranteed crash on mine and I've read many people with G3s have the exact same crash (all with the 1GB version). And for that reason it's still a bit of a dodgy purchase for Pokemon Go if some G3s run the game and some don't. Plus no AR mode.
Freddy5150
15 Sep 16 #80
Hotukdeals are actually quite strict with retailers self promoting. Plenty of accounts have been locked and posts removed. So yes, it does happen: quite a lot as it happens. Perfectly reasonable to assume big Supermarket chains would do this for a little free advertising. How much does it cost them to put out a TV/radio commercial about some special offer designed to get you in to the store in the hope you also buy other stuff? How much does it cost them to reduce a couple of electrical items in a couple of stores and get plenty of free advertising on the UK's biggest deals website? Hardly tin hat brigade is it. Makes perfect sense to most intelligent people I'm sure.

Regardless of if you use Greenify to close it manually or automatically, it will only wake up again a few seconds later when another app calls it.
I found this out through much trial an error. It turns out certain system apps with Facebook integration were re-opening it automatically, even when the phone was locked.
The experimental Greenify feature "wake-up tracker" can stop other apps from waking it up, but this is not fully supported on non-rooted phones.

as I say made up for the three or so who got this AMAZING deal but 3 out of 6902
Maybe Tesco do this as if everyone buys something while seeing if item is in store they must make millions £2.25 wrap X 6902 = £15,529.50 ain't bad selling a few phones at cost. good business sense to me.

Here's the waterproof innards of the Moto G3. From http://www.pcnexus.net/2015/12/motorola-moto-g3rd-gen-2015-xt1550-review-hands-on.html

Moto G (3rd Gen) has got IPX7 certification, so the phone is waterproof against accidental drops in water and liquid spills and exposure to rain water. You should know this that Moto G has no way from where water can get in its circuit boards except the SIM and sd card slots, to cover these 3 slots Moto G has given watertight rubber seals in the back cover. If you use any other cover instead of the original Motorola back cover then your phone will be damaged due to water.

Another important thing to note that besides having the original back cover properly installed, water can get under the back cover. This is normal, you will see that water is everywhere except the SIM slots and the sd card slot, which will appear dry because the rubber seals have done their job well and prevented the water from getting in. See the image below.

i have a 3rd 16gb and never had a crash or freeze i can't blame on the app i was using, phone always recovers and never needs rebooting. loads games and apps fast, only gets slow when switching pages if i have more than 5 tabs open in chrome and it integrated a samsung 32gb sd card into it's system memory no problem. call quality a lot better/signal stronger than g1 as well, which was my main reason for buying. camera is surprisingly decent too, can (and frequently do) take a pic of documents in poor light and can read every word.

as i've mentioned above, no stereo speakers is noticeable when watching videos, no gyros stop it using AR apps and no NFC is a small niggle but it's clean version of android 6 and being waterproof are great things to have. don't think i'll be getting a g4 after having this as you can get so much better specs for the same price nowadays but if you grab one for £50 you have yourself a bargain. note - it WILL be the 8gb/1gb ram version, tesco didn't carry the 16gb (i had to get mine from motorolas own store)

have a 2nd gen also, is noticeably slower and does lag at times. my mate's got 3rd gen and appears is same as 2nd gen, if not even worse. doesnt freeze/crash tbf, but is pretty slow by comparison.

Some other options are-

Facebook Lite - it's the free official Facebook app designed for use in countries where more basic smartphones are most common - retains messaging and notifications, but only old-fashioned "likes" and not on the Google Play store in this country so you need to be a bit creative in locating it.
Tinfoil for Facebook - an app that's a wrapper around the mobile site with some extras, including quick links and a toggle between mobile site and full site - can't do messages on this though.

I use both of the above as a work-around, as the official Facebook app is a bloody resource hog on ANY device.

I think as long as you don't want tons of games and apps on your Moto G3 (1GB/8GB) you'll be okay. My mum has this phone and loves it. The Gestures idea (never tried a Moto G till I got mum this one) is brilliant too - trying to work out how to enable it on my Samsung phone with apps such as Gravity Gesture.

The first Android phone I ever remember being discussed on HUKD way back was the HTC Hero! http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hero-2861.php

it's merely a good phone after the great g1 and g2. lack of stereo speakers is noticeable when watching a vid & lack of gyro (mainly) and NFC is a pain, plus the splitting of the 8gb rom/1gb ram and 16/2 models makes no sense - marshmallow seems to merge SD card and onboard but i've had bad experiences with android on 8gb or less before. not used the chinese/vodaphone rebadge alternatives but this phone gets beaten by them in spec so i bought mine for £150 (16gb/2gb) last year for 2 reasons no similarly priced phones have : waterproofing and stock android with fast 6.0 update.

if you can grab one for £50 you are getting the aforementioned features for a great price but i'm sure plenty of other sub-£100 phones crush this spec-wise and probably have marshmallow by now.

13 Sep 16 1 #19
Not all Facebook and WhatsApp users are addicts you know.
Unfortunately though, even if you have them installed and rarely use them, they're still constantly running in the background consuming RAM and CPU.
Sure you can force them to close using an app like Greenify, but they'll automatically start themselves again.
I uninstalled Facebook from my Moto G2 as it has become increasingly bloated and resource intensive. Each time it ran a sync in the background it caused Google Music and Maps Navigation to stutter and crash.
But if the applications you have running use more than 1GB RAM the phone will slow to a crawl and apps will start to crash, and apps are now being designed with more powerful hardware in mind.

Is that the one with 1GB of RAM? It was underpowered at launch, and is certainly near obsolete now. Facebook and whatsup in the background and Chrome in the foreground nearly use up all the available memory.

PS: Yes, otherwise it is a nice phone, but the low RAM cripples it.
