Chances are PS3 won't even be as good as the XBox 360 for a while as the developers have to get used to writing for a new system. Damn - I wish I had £250 laying around right now - been walking around the house with my EBay radar on but can see nowt but tat!

Whats the usual 'good find' price of the xbox 360 system?
emmajk42 to Garthunkle

The cheapest cash price we have had before was £237 from Dixons a while back.
This is a very good offer from Boots though, best offer in a while.

31 Aug 061#26
Well the thing is because im an employee, I can get it for £170. (taking into account points)
I'm not a massive game player, but my housemates are. The wireless media centre stuff it offers is cool aswell.
How much do games go for?

I've been very tempted with the recent Xbox 360 offers, but I've always been a Playstation guy so Im eagerly awaiting the slightly superior PS3.
I am still tempted in getting a cheap 360 as well, BUT does anyone know if the initial problems with the console overheating and switching off have been fixed ???? Have seen quite a lot of bad press recently.

31 Aug 06#28
Thanks for that edi, fantastic deal. I've been looking to get a 360 for a while, but couldn't bring myself to pay much more than the price Dixons had a while ago. Now it is even better!

I'll pop this in here as the deal is ending at midnight - if you're not worried about the Boots points, if you buy from QED-UK.com before midnight tonight, you can get the XBOX 360 premium for £243.55 delivered using the promo code HAPPYDAY0806. I'm not starting a new thread as I think the codes runs out in 45 minutes!!!
EDIT - 4% quidco cashback as well.

Does anybody subscribe to the view that there may be a lot more deals around when the PS3 is released? I kinda think a lot of game addicts out there will be flogging their 360s on ebay in order to buy the PS3.
sbear1
1 Sep 06#35
Not really, they will be so short of supply in the UK this xmas that only the truly dedicated (and probably more money than sense) will actually get a PS3. Better to wait for when they are more available, more competition and better deals around.
I reckon MS will release a special pack for xmas, throw in an old game or two at the same price. I also reckon we will see the xbox360 classic range launched including the launch titles from last xmas for around £20, so online for about 17.99 as usual.
edi
1 Sep 06#36
Yeah... If you cant get it from Boots at this price, I would advise to hold on. This price will be a sort of standard in a few months time.

@ LazyDonkey
I can't vouch for it personally, not being a 360 owner (yet) but as I understand it the initial problems reported with the first wave of Xbox 360's has now been cleared up.
It just goes to show that the early adopters of technology always run the risk of equipment failure on the the first generation of machines. It's the same for cars and so on.
PS3 fans be warned, especially as reports suggest that PS3 production has only just started (and they aim to ship two million units by November? That's gotta be pushing it).

Hi I'm new to forums & this site so I'm just going to dive right in so forgive me if I do this incorrectly. Anyway I have been reading your posts on the xbox 360 & was wondering if anyone knew of any other deals going on with them as I was hoping to purchase one this weekend. The problem is I would prefer the premium pack but everywhere seems to be at £280 price & the vouchers seem to be past. Any advice would be gratefully received.
