Just saw this deal and looks good value if you just want a cheap new Mercedes-Benz for 2 years. I think this is the cheapest I have even seen a Mercedes C Class. Is even cheaper if you are a business.
This will be a real marmite offer I think, as it's a lease and not a amg!!!!

surely you don't need a manual to drive this thing?! I'm sure it wouldn't be that much more complicated than other cars!

they certainly aren't higher build quality. other way around. merc interior is laughable with the stuck on Fisher price screen in the middle if the dash.i have a merc and audi...by the way.

Much more reliable (warranty direct rate this at 71 compared to 145 for A3, 175 for A4 and 196 for an A6) these are higher build quality, higher amount of respect and rear wheel drive.

I have a manual c class and love it but I drove sheds before that and I do like autos mercs is all about the cam chain and rear wheel drive with leather trim and mine amg there's not that much different unless it's c63 or barbus tuned

Once you go auto you will never go back, certain features on modern cars don't work correctly with a manual either. For example adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance can't function fully as the car doesn't have ability to change gears. ACC for example simply disengages if the car is forced to slow beyond the range of the current gear, as with collision avoidance should the car have to emergency brake for you it will stall the engine.
Obviously in automatic cars this technology can bring the car to a complete stop if required.

Haha fair enough
Two reasons for that....
1) your comparing a premium brand with a Ford.
2) the Kuga isn't really an automatic it's a mechatronic i.e. It has clutches and no torque convertor (not anything like a "proper" smooth auto)

My BMW does, it says lex autolease on it so it's highly likely most companies will do the same. But I don't care as I'm not trying to pretend I own it.

Since when??? That's very much subjective. Rural areas will do double that, maybe inner city dwellers could survive on that little milage but most other areas couldn't.

They are on all Mercs, not really bad so much just that the automatic is where its at the manual is a bog standard clutch and box. 3 Pedal Mercs have never been popular save perhaps in the older A classes where it meant "cheaper".

Love the gearbox banter. Off course mercs are renowned for autos but that doesn't automatically mean they are necessarily amazing auto boxes the current gen still seems to lag behind stuff like the ZF 8 speed used elsewhere.
The C class manual box is likely just fine (better than the auto even, according to honest john). However for this current C class at least I can say that an auto is the more enjoyable option in higher trim levels than se. The 220d was a lovely car with real life mpg of up to 55mpg if you don't go above 70 on the motorway. And a general average of around 40mpg with mixed driving. Hopefully in this model it should get even higher.
