This is a fantastic game at an amazing price. With Mafia 3 coming out soon now is a great time to jump in to the series.

Base game is really good, graphics stand up from 2011 with in game theme.
Don't dismiss extra DLC's with hot rods and missions etc.. this really is a cracking game!

One of the best games ever made in my opinion. Looking at the Mafia III vids i am doubtful it will top this.

At the time I really didn't think the PC version ran very well but the passage of time will have fixed most of that. Physx and AA neither of which worked very well crushed performance even at low resolutions. The game was very buggy.
I completed it and collected all the magazines (of course:p) and liked it at the time. It was quite short which surprised me and I didn't feel that motivated to go through it again however.
Saying that I will likely pick up Mafia 3 if it is any good. If you haven't played Mafia 2 then you should give it a go at this price, chances are you'll have a machine good enough to run it well now too.
This is one of the best things about PC gaming, previously games you couldn't attain max settings on are a breeze a few years later when you have newer hardware and the game is all the better for it!

Mafia 2 is a good game, but it has nothing on the original Mafia from 2002 except for graphics (which is to be expected). I'm hoping Mafia 3 will more closely resemble the original.

Be warned this game has a horrible game breaking glitch at the start of chapter 2. (When you first steal a car after picking up lock picks the game goes super slow mo. There is no way of getting round this as I tried, I even left it for a while and nothing happened. Requested a refund, shouldn't be selling this with such a horrible glitch. Would be a great deal if you could actually play it!)

Apparently it's an issue with VSync, and you're suppose to switch it off.

I tried that and umpteen other so called 'fixes' one suggestion was changing the resolution. No matter what I tried the slo mo stayed... So frustrating...
